Yes. PlayStation says each Uncharted game has a distinct standalone narrative and can be enjoyed without playing the others, despite continuity across the series. Naughty Dog also described The Lost Legacy as a standalone story, and a 2017 PlayStation Blog preview said players did not need to own Uncharted 4.

The story centers on Chloe Frazer and mercenary Nadine Ross as they search India’s Western Ghats for the Golden Tusk of Ganesh, while facing the warlord Asav. The official description frames the adventure around Chloe confronting her past and deciding what she will sacrifice to forge her own legacy.
What earlier games add
Previous appearances give extra recognition and emotional context, especially for Nadine after Uncharted 4 and for Chloe from her earlier role in the series. But The Lost Legacy makes its two leads and their partnership the focus of a new adventure, giving newcomers room to understand who they are through this story.

The contrast between them is part of the appeal: Naughty Dog described Nadine as a cool, calculating tactician and Chloe as more improvisational and witty. A 2017 PlayStation Blog interview also emphasized that the game explores sides of both characters beyond the roles series players had seen before.
What kind of game to expect
PlayStation describes cinematic combat, exploration, traversal, and complex puzzles. A 2017 gameplay preview also highlighted a broader area to explore, optional exploration, a map, lockpicking, and the choice between stealth and direct combat. That preview is historical coverage, not a current technical review or a measure of performance on today’s hardware.

The same 2017 preview said the game was expected to be longer than The Last of Us: Left Behind and shorter than Uncharted 4. That is a qualitative comparison from the time, not a reliable completion-time estimate.
Should you play another Uncharted first?
If your priority is understanding the main plot, you can start with The Lost Legacy. If you want more background on Chloe and Nadine, playing earlier entries first will provide it, but the game is structured to develop their partnership on its own. PlayStation’s guidance is that players can choose any Uncharted game first.
