Jennifer Hale has said she would love to voice Bayonetta again, but she has not been announced for another game. In a later interview, she also described the backlash around her casting in Bayonetta 3 as difficult, saying two nondisclosure agreements prevented her from speaking publicly on her own behalf at the time.

“I’d love to play Bayonetta again,” Hale said in an interview with GAMINGbible, as quoted by Video Games Chronicle and GameSpot in November and December 2025. That is her personal willingness to reprise the role—not confirmation that she has been hired, approached, or cast in a future project.

Hale said she checked the situation before accepting the audition, adding, “Before I accepted the audition, I checked everything thoroughly, and I trust the director.” She also said she enjoyed playing Bayonetta and appreciated the community’s welcome after the controversy subsided.

Hellena Taylor voiced Bayonetta in the earlier games. Hale took over the role for Bayonetta 3, released for Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022. Before the game’s release, Taylor publicly criticized the compensation she said she had been offered to return and urged fans to boycott it. The dispute brought Hale into public scrutiny even though the disagreement concerned Taylor’s negotiations.

Looking back, Hale said she felt exposed by the episode: “I definitely got thrown under the bus by that whole thing, and I was unable to speak on my own behalf because I was under not one but two NDAs.” She had previously said she could not discuss much because of an NDA; in the later interview, she described being bound by two.
What was reported about Taylor’s compensation claims
The figures in coverage of the dispute are Taylor’s reported account, not independently audited contract terms. GameSpot’s December 2025 report describes Taylor’s claims as a sequence:
- Taylor initially said she had been offered $4,000 to reprise Bayonetta.
- She later acknowledged an offer of $15,000 for recording her role across multiple sessions.
- In her later account, the separate $4,000 offer was for a single session and came after the $15,000 offer. GameSpot also reported that Taylor said she requested $250,000 and was turned down.
The reporting does not include the underlying contract or recording-session documentation, so these amounts should be understood as reported claims rather than a complete or independently verified account of the work and negotiations.

Does a future Bayonetta game look likely?
There is some indication that PlatinumGames wants to keep the franchise going, but no specific next game or cast has been confirmed. On October 4, 2026, PlatinumGames president Atsushi Inaba said the studio wanted to further develop Bayonetta and expand her world, while declining to say what form a future project would take, according to GamesRadar+.
That statement signals interest in the character and setting; it does not establish that a new game is in production, provide a timetable, or say whether Hale would return. Her own position is clear: she would like to play Bayonetta again, but any future casting remains unannounced.
