A secondary report says the card sold for US$16,000 to overclocker Der8auer, but the ASUS sources reviewed do not confirm the winning bid or buyer. The auction has ended, and no verified final donation total is available.
What happened to the signed RTX 4090?
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) partnered with Make-A-Wish International to auction a ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 signed by Jensen Huang. ASUS said the proceeds would help fulfill wishes for children facing critical illnesses. ASUS ROG’s account of the charity auction describes the item and its charitable purpose.
ASUS announced the auction start for September 26, 2023, at 9 a.m. Taipei time; a separate ROG product article gave the auction period as September 26 through October 10, 2023. Those dates are historical: this is not an active buying opportunity. ASUS USA’s September 19, 2023 launch announcement lists the start time, while the ROG product article gives the period.
How much did the signed card sell for?
A Chinese-language secondary report says overclocker Der8auer won the signed card with a US$16,000 bid. Treat that as a reported result, not an ASUS-confirmed final price: the official ASUS sources reviewed establish the auction but do not publish its winning bid or buyer. The report giving the result is the source for the amount and buyer. The sources reviewed also do not establish the final amount transferred to Make-A-Wish International.

How was the auction card different from a retail RTX 4090?
The auction item was a unique signed example of the production ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 model. Its signature and auction provenance made it a collectible; a retail Matrix card is not the signed auction item and does not, by itself, connect a purchase to Make-A-Wish. The reported US$16,000 bid and ASUS’s historical launch price have different bases: one is a secondary report about an auction bid, the other a manufacturer-listed price.
What were the ROG Matrix RTX 4090’s specifications?
ASUS described the ROG Matrix as a factory water-cooled graphics card and said it was the first card from the factory to use liquid-metal thermal compound on the GPU die. ASUS listed a high-flow pump and 360 mm radiator as part of its cooling system. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test results. ASUS ROG’s product account covers the design.

The specifications and clock figures above are from ASUS’s September 2023 US launch announcement; they are manufacturer-listed values, not independent performance measurements. ASUS USA’s launch announcement also listed a US$3,199.99 price for limited North American availability in 2023. That is a historical launch price, not a current quote or an indication of present availability.
