Its event currency is the Horse Talisman, earned by defeating NPCs with the exact Lunar status effect. Lunar enemies glow yellow, and the game displays a message when one spawns. The documented daily earning limit is 60 Horse Talismans.
The event’s main activities are farming Lunar NPCs, spending Talismans at the Black Market, and fighting the hourly world boss, Lunar Curse Nian. Because the event launched in February, availability may have changed since these mechanics were documented.

Horse Talisman drop rates
Horse Talismans do not come from ordinary enemies. You must defeat an NPC that has the Lunar status effect—the enemy has a yellow glow. When one spawns, an on-screen message appears at the top of the screen.

These are two separate values: the first column shows the chance that an NPC becomes Lunar, while the final column shows how many Talismans a Lunar version awards. A normal, non-Lunar NPC does not provide the event currency under the documented mechanic.

The documented limit is 60 Talismans per day. The item database separately lists Horse Talisman as an untradable event currency with an Infinite maximum capacity, so the practical daily restriction is the important farming limit—not a permanent inventory cap.

How to farm Horse Talismans efficiently
- Watch for the Lunar spawn message. Do not assume every enemy in an area counts.
- Look for the yellow aura. Confirm the NPC is Lunar before investing time in the fight.
- Prioritize higher-value targets. Lunar Boss NPCs award five Talismans, while Lunar Curse Users award two and Lunar Cursed NPCs award one.
- Check your daily total. Stop expecting additional currency once you reach the documented 60-Talisman limit.
World Boss NPCs are guaranteed to be Lunar and award 10 Talismans, making Lunar Curse Nian the most reliable single target for event currency. However, Nian has a timed spawn and a damage requirement, so regular Lunar enemies remain useful when the rift is unavailable.
Where to find the Black Market
The event vendor is in the main school area. From the central path, look on the left side, next to the Cash Market Vendor and slightly in front of the Boss rift. The Black Market vendor is surrounded by white smoke.

If you want a permanent event-themed title, Lunar Sorcerer is the cheapest listed reward. The Spear of the Impaler costs the most, at 300 Talismans. The envelopes are the low-cost options for players who prefer short-term luck bonuses or randomized rewards.
Lunar Curse Nian: spawn time and location
Lunar Curse Nian is the event’s World Boss. Its rift appears in the middle of the school courtyard at every full hour and remains open for approximately five minutes.
The update-log documentation states that the boss requires at least three players in the server to spawn. If you arrive outside the short window, the rift may already be gone. Plan to be in the school courtyard before the hour changes rather than traveling there after the event has started.

Nian’s health and reward requirement
Lunar Curse Nian has 85,000 Health. You must deal at least 5% damage to qualify for the boss rewards. That equals:
85,000 × 0.05 = 4,250 damage
Simply entering the server-wide fight is not enough. Players who reach the 4,250-damage threshold receive five exclusive chests. Players who do not meet it should not expect those chests even if the group defeats Nian.

- Scroll of Stampede: a rush move that chains between enemies and stuns each target it hits.
- Scroll of Lunar Strikes: launches two area-of-effect kicks toward the cursor and adds burn damage.
- Title: Nian Exorcist: a title with a large yellow glow.
Nian also counts as a World Boss NPC, so it is documented to award 10 Horse Talismans.

The sources confirm the five-chest reward structure and identify these exclusive rewards, but they do not provide verified item-by-item chest odds. No reliable percentage should be assigned to the Scroll of Stampede, Scroll of Lunar Strikes, Nian Exorcist, or individual Black Market items from those chests.

Arriving after the rift closes
Nian’s rift is tied to the full-hour schedule and lasts only about five minutes. If the portal is missing, the most likely explanation is that you arrived outside the event window—not that the boss has moved to another location.
Fighting non-Lunar enemies
The event currency is tied to the exact Lunar status effect. Check for the yellow glow and spawn message. Ordinary NPCs without that status do not provide Horse Talismans under the documented system.

Failing to deal enough damage
For Nian, target at least 4,250 damage. Participation alone does not qualify you for the five chests.
Trusting conflicting event guides
Some later guides repeat claims about a Lunar Exchange NPC, daily quests, AFK farming, 80–120-Talisman World Boss rewards, five-minute boss respawns, four-player bonuses, or a Lunar Fireworks Scroll that doubles drops. Those claims conflict with the documented Black Market, 60-Talisman daily limit, 10-Talisman World Boss yield, and hourly Nian schedule. They should not be treated as verified mechanics.
