Jurassic Park: Survival resurfaced in an August 2025 behind-the-scenes featurette, but the new material amounted to brief pre-alpha gameplay glimpses—not a full gameplay showcase. The game still has no announced release date in the official or store listings reviewed on 8 October 2026.
What the August 2025 footage showed
The featurette offered only short glimpses of pre-alpha footage, largely showing corridors and dinosaurs, according to PC Gamer’s 15 August 2025 report. Kotaku’s 14 August 2025 coverage likewise described brief views of dinosaurs. The video was a behind-the-scenes featurette, not an extended demonstration from which to judge the finished game’s systems or depth.
The “nearly two years” framing refers to the time since the game’s December 2023 announcement. Kotaku characterized the gap to the August 2025 featurette as 19 months.
What Jurassic Park: Survival is about
Saber Interactive announced the game on 8 December 2023, in partnership with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its story is set on Isla Nublar the day after the events of the 1993 film. Players take the role of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist who was unable to evacuate.

The official game site describes it as a single-player, first-person action-adventure. Its announced premise has players exploring the island and surviving dinosaur encounters through distraction, stealth, escape, and resourceful problem-solving. The site also describes dinosaurs as having distinct, adaptive behavior. These are the developers’ stated design aims; the brief pre-alpha glimpses do not establish how those systems will work in the finished release.
Why the featurette focused on production design
Alongside the short footage, the featurette discussed the team’s approach to recreating the film’s world. Universal Products & Experiences executive producer John Melchior told PC Gamer: “We go through room by room in the game, level by level,” and said the team consults “archives, from the film, from production stills, production blueprints to make sure every prop is in the same place.” That describes the stated reference process for production design; it is not evidence about gameplay quality or a release schedule.

When does Jurassic Park: Survival come out?
No release date is listed. The PlayStation Store listing identifies the PS5 version as a one-player game and gives its release date as “Release date to be determined.” Steam lists Saber Interactive as developer and publisher, says release is “To be announced,” and states that the game is not yet available there.
The official site currently provides a wishlist option and a signup for release updates. Those options let players follow the game, but none of the reviewed pages establishes when it will launch.
