To check a Jupiter, Florida, code, start with the Town’s Municipal Code page, then check the Town’s ordinance and meeting records for newer changes that may not yet appear in the searchable code. For March 2025, Town records document a March 12 Code Compliance Magistrate hearing and a March 18 scheduled second reading of a proposed sign amendment; the notice alone does not establish that the amendment was adopted.
Where to find Jupiter’s official codes
Use the Town of Jupiter’s Municipal Code page to open the searchable Town Code. The Town says ordinances are submitted for publication quarterly and warns that “Very recent Ordinances may not yet be codified.” For a rule that may have changed recently, search the code and then check the Town’s online records portal for ordinances, resolutions, agendas, and minutes. The Town FAQ also says ordinances are adopted after two readings and codified quarterly.
The records portal includes materials from Town Council, the Community Redevelopment Agency, and the Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as records such as building permits, ordinances, and resolutions. If you need the complete text of an ordinance or cannot determine its status, the Town advises contacting the Town Clerk.
What “codes” means in Jupiter
Jupiter’s rules are not all in one codebook. The Town Code includes zoning and land-development requirements, while construction is subject to the statewide Florida Building Code and applicable Jupiter amendments. Code Compliance also handles allegations involving subjects such as property maintenance, signs, and overgrown lots.

Building and construction requirements
The Town’s Building Department says the updated Florida State Building Codes were mandatory for new construction or rehabilitation projects with permit application dates of January 1, 2024, or later. Jupiter Ordinance 18-23 amends Chapter 21, “Buildings and Building Regulations,” concerning local amendments to administration of the 8th Edition 2023 Florida Building Code. The statewide code alone may therefore not include every local administrative requirement.
The Town’s Building page also announces new codes taking effect December 31, 2026. Because the applicable edition can depend on permit application date and transition rules, verify the Town’s current requirements for the specific project rather than assuming an edition from the project’s construction date.
Property, zoning, and compliance matters
The March 12, 2025 Code Compliance Magistrate agenda describes alleged violations of Town codes and ordinances, including building, electrical, fire, gas, landscape, plumbing, sign, and zoning matters. Its example of alleged dead and missing landscape material contrary to an approved landscape plan under Section 23-97 is one case on that agenda, not a general ruling about other properties.
What Town records show for March 2025
The Town calendar lists Town Council regular meetings on March 4 and March 18, a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on March 11, and a Code Compliance Magistrate hearing on March 12. These are scheduled events, not a complete list of ordinances enacted during the month.

March 12: Code Compliance Magistrate hearing
The agenda says the magistrate has authority under Chapter 162 of the Florida Statutes and Town ordinances to hear alleged code violations. One listed case concerned landscape material and a landscape plan under Section 23-97; staff recommended a compliance deadline and possible daily fine. An allegation or staff recommendation does not establish the case’s final outcome.
March 18: proposed Neighborhood subdistrict sign amendment
A Town public notice scheduled a second-reading hearing for a zoning text amendment concerning Section 27-1229, sign regulations for the Neighborhood (NB) Subdistrict. The notice cautioned that the title could change before approval. The notice establishes that a hearing was scheduled, not that the amendment passed, what final language may have been approved, or when it took effect. Check the Town’s ordinance and meeting records for the final status before relying on the proposal.

How to check which rule applies to a property or project
- Identify the issue. A building permit or construction question belongs with the Building Department; zoning, signs, property maintenance, and alleged violations may involve Planning and Zoning or Code Compliance.
- Look up the relevant Town Code chapter. Search the Municipal Code for the subject or section number, such as Section 27-1229 for the sign amendment notice.
- Check for later action. Search the Town’s ordinance, agenda, and minutes records for amendments that may not yet be included in the quarterly-updated code.
- Confirm the details that control your case. Have the parcel address, project type, permit application date, and relevant code section available when contacting the Town. A rule’s applicability can depend on all of them.
The Municipal Code page says Building, Code Compliance, and Planning and Zoning staff can assist with interpretation. For a permit- or parcel-specific determination, confirm directly with the appropriate department rather than relying only on a general code search or a hearing notice.
