There is no verified universal fix for Just Another Night Shift crashes on PC in the available reports. One Steam player described a freeze followed by a LowLevelFatalError after about five minutes, but the discussion does not confirm what caused it or whether any suggested fix worked. Use the steps below to gather useful details and test reversible changes—not as guaranteed solutions.

What is known about the crashes

A July 2024 Steam discussion includes one player’s report of the game freezing after about five minutes and then showing a LowLevelFatalError. A commenter suggested checking graphics drivers, but the thread does not say whether that resolved the original player’s problem. Read the Steam discussion.

That thread also includes a separate player’s account of a laptop blue screen while using integrated graphics, followed by high CPU and GPU temperatures after switching to a GTX 1650. This is an anecdote, not a confirmed diagnosis: it does not establish that the game caused overheating or that a hardware purchase is needed.

In another historical Steam thread, a player said performance problems followed an update. The developer asked for the GPU and driver details, but the thread shown has no final diagnosis. Read the performance discussion.

What to check first

  1. Record the failure details. Note the exact error text, whether the game freezes or closes, how long it runs before failing, and whether the problem began after an update. Record your Windows version, CPU, GPU, laptop or desktop model, graphics-driver version, and game build. These details help distinguish a game crash from a wider system-stability problem.
  2. Check for a game update in Steam. Open your Steam Library, right-click Just Another Night Shift, and choose Properties > Updates. Make sure automatic updates are enabled, then let Steam finish any pending download. The available official update notes do not establish that a particular update fixes this crash, so check the current build rather than assuming one does.
  3. Check your GPU maker’s official driver channel. Identify whether the system uses NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel graphics, then check that manufacturer’s official driver source for an applicable current driver. A Steam commenter suggested a driver check, but did not report a confirmed result. Avoid paid driver utilities as a supposed fix.
  4. Try a less demanding graphics setup, one change at a time. If the game exposes graphics or frame-rate options, lower the frame rate or reduce demanding settings, then test whether the failure changes. This is a general, reversible diagnostic—not a game-specific fix proven by controlled testing. A third-party troubleshooting guide suggests reducing resolution or frame rate, but does not document testing on this game: The CPU Guide’s general PC game-crash suggestions.
  5. Stop repeated testing if Windows blue-screens or temperatures appear unusually high. First investigate system temperatures and stability; do not assume the game is the cause. The temperature report above is one player’s account, not a validated measurement or causal analysis.
  6. Report the issue with the details you collected. If the crash began after an update, include that timing along with your GPU and driver version. The developer requested GPU and driver details in the historical performance discussion; the thread does not show a confirmed resolution.

How to interpret the update history

The Steam listing describes Just Another Night Shift as an online 1v1/2v2 PvP stealth strategy game, developed by JANS Dev Team and FinnGames, with a March 28, 2024 release date. See the Steam store listing.

The official Steam news listing includes a July 31 update describing proximity voice chat and gameplay fixes. An August 19, 2026 SteamDB archive quotes a patch note about fixing a mansion-map corner that let players glitch onto a roof. Neither surfaced note identifies a PC crash fix. See the official Steam news listing and the SteamDB patch archive. Check Steam for any newer build or announcement before troubleshooting an older version.

Changes that are not established fixes

  • Administrator mode, antivirus exclusions, VPN changes, or reinstalling Windows are not verified fixes for this game’s crash in the cited discussions.
  • Do not whitelist unknown files or disable security protections on the assumption that it will help. Antivirus exceptions can reduce protection.
  • No physical product or replacement part is supported as a solution by these reports. A driver suggestion does not establish a need for a new graphics card, and one temperature anecdote does not justify buying a cooling accessory.
