If Just Dance 2024 Edition closes unexpectedly on Nintendo Switch, start with Nintendo’s general steps: restart the console, check for system and game updates, and test the game again. If the exact error code is 2000-0000, Nintendo’s Just Dance-specific instruction is to update the game, then close and reopen it. These steps are not a confirmed universal fix; persistent crashes need to be reported to Nintendo or Ubisoft with the error and circumstances.
Try these steps in order
- Note the error and when the game closes. Nintendo’s general instructions cover the message “The software was closed because an error occurred.” If you see a different code or message, search Nintendo Support for that exact error. Also note whether the crash happens on launch, in a menu, while selecting a song, or during a song. Nintendo’s unexpected-closure troubleshooting includes additional steps and asks players to test the software after each one.
- Restart the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo includes a console restart in its general troubleshooting for software that closes unexpectedly. After restarting, open Just Dance 2024 Edition and check whether the same failure occurs.
- Check for system and game updates. Install any available Nintendo Switch system update and update Just Dance 2024 Edition, then test again. Nintendo’s support page provides current menu guidance for checking updates.
- For error code 2000-0000, follow Nintendo’s Just Dance instruction. Nintendo says: “Update the game software, and then close and reopen the game.” This instruction is specifically for error code 2000-0000; it should not be treated as a remedy for every crash. - Contact support if the crash continues. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2024 Edition FAQ directs players with continuing problems to its support team. Nintendo’s unexpected-closure page also advises contacting Nintendo if its steps do not resolve the issue. Provide your Switch model, system and game update status, exact error message or code, and when the closure happens.
Match the next step to what you see
| What happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| Error code 2000-0000 while playing Just Dance | Update the game, close it, then reopen it, as directed by Nintendo’s code-specific article. |
| “The software was closed because an error occurred” | Follow Nintendo’s general unexpected-closure troubleshooting, testing the game after each step. |
| A different code or a repeatable crash with no useful code | Record the exact message, game state, and update status; consult Nintendo’s support for the code or contact Nintendo or Ubisoft if the problem persists. |
What player reports can—and cannot—tell you
A June 2024 Reddit discussion includes reports of Just Dance 2024 closing during songs or while players select songs. Some participants said fully closing and restarting the software helped; others described continued problems. These are individual, unverified experiences, not an established diagnosis or a dependable fix for other consoles. Read the discussion.
About the “FIXED” claim
Ubisoft identifies Just Dance 2024 Edition as available for Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo publishes general Switch crash guidance plus a specific instruction for error code 2000-0000. The official pages cited here do not confirm that Ubisoft has resolved every Just Dance 2024 crash or that one step fixes all cases. For a persistent problem, the exact error and the point in play where it occurs are more useful than assuming every crash has the same cause.
Controller note
Ubisoft lists Nintendo Switch Joy-Con as a supported controller for Just Dance 2024 Edition. That identifies a supported control option; it is not evidence that buying or replacing a controller will resolve a game crash. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2024 Edition FAQ
