Which game is the movie based on?
The film adapts the Helldivers franchise, whose current best-known entry is Helldivers 2. Sony lists Helldivers 2 as a PlayStation 5 title in its FY26 first-quarter supplemental information. In that same supplemental material, Sony Group Corporation reports 12.0 million units in its sales table; the figure should be read within that table’s stated scope and period, not assumed to be a current lifetime-sales total.
For players interested in the source material, Sony’s FY26 first-quarter supplemental information identifies the PS5 game and provides the sales-table figure.
