If DISM reports that repair files cannot be found, do not point it at a random ISO or downloaded DLL. Use a matching Windows installation or repair source:

10. Check logs and disk health if the problem returns

Repeated disappearance after repair points to a broader problem.

Check Event Viewer

1. Right-click Start.
2. Select Event Viewer.
3. Review Windows Logs > System.
4. Review Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > WindowsUpdateClient when available.
5. Note events at the time the error occurred.
6. Look for servicing, update, disk, file-system, or security events.

For component-repair details, review:

Do not interpret every CBS entry as a failure. Look for entries recorded around the repair time and references to the affected file or component.

Check for disk problems

If Windows repair, language reinstallation, quarantine review, and System Restore do not resolve the problem, use the supported repair-reinstall option when it is available.

On Windows 11:

1. Open Settings.
2. Select System > Recovery.
3. Look for Fix problems using Windows Update.
4. Select Reinstall now.
5. Follow the prompts.
6. Keep the computer connected to power and the internet.

If the option is not present, use Microsoft’s supported Windows recovery or installation-media repair choices. Back up important files before any recovery operation.

Do drivers or Windows Features fix kbdinmal.dll?

Usually not. kbdinmal.dll is a Windows keyboard-layout component, not a device driver and not a Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET runtime file. Device Manager is therefore not the primary repair location.
