Who is Kent in Stardew Valley?
Kent is a Pelican Town villager, Jodi’s husband, and the father of Sam and Vincent. Although he is absent during Year 1, he is mentioned through items in Jodi’s bedroom drawer and dialogue from his sons. After returning, he has to adjust to life at home. As he puts it: “I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to being back home. The peacefulness of the town feels like a mask. That’s probably just me though.”

When does Kent return?
Kent comes back to Pelican Town in spring of Year 2. You can begin building friendship with him once he has returned; there is no need to search for him during Year 1.
What gifts does Kent like?
His birthday is Spring 4. A birthday gift has an eightfold friendship effect, and you can give him one birthday gift even if you have already given him the regular two gifts allowed that week.

The Dwarvish Safety Manual is an in-game item whose description says bombs deal 25% less damage to the player; it is also a liked gift for Kent. Check the Social tab for recorded gift preferences and weekly gift checkboxes. Friendship is measured in points, with each heart representing 250 points. Talking to Kent, giving suitable gifts, completing quests, and some event choices can raise friendship; disliked or hated gifts and failing to greet him can lower it.
Where can you find Kent?
Kent’s schedule changes for weather, special days, and other schedule overrides, so check the day-specific schedule before making a trip. On a regular day, his listed routine is:

- On Friday and Saturday evenings, Kent goes to the Stardrop Saloon at 5:00 p.m. and leaves at 11:50 p.m.
- Rain changes his afternoon and evening locations.
- After you unlock the Ginger Island Beach Resort, Kent may visit it at random. He does not visit the resort on festival days.
How do you get into Kent and Jodi’s bedroom?
Reach two hearts with either Kent or Jodi to unlock their shared bedroom permanently. The unlock remains even if your friendship later falls, so befriending Jodi is an alternative route if you want access sooner or find it easier to talk or give gifts to her.
What is Kent’s three-heart event trigger?
The game-data reference lists a Kent event at three hearts (750 points) at SamHouse, requiring both Kent and Jodi to be present at home. This trigger identifies when and where the event can occur; it does not establish further scene details.
