Wolves may attack along the way, so stay close to the ram and be ready to defend it.
How to unlock Carrot on a Stick
The task is part of the shepherd task chain in Trosky, near Apollonia. Guides differ on the precise preceding task: PowerPyx says it becomes marked after “Sheep among Wolves,” while Gamer Guides describes it as following “The Lost Sheep.” Progress through the shepherd tasks and use the in-game marker to find Shepherd Stanislav.

Stanislav is near the Apollonia fast-travel point. Speak with him to start the task. Gamer Guides lists the task location at X: 18799, Y: 12670 on its interactive map: Trosky Region map.
How to find and lead the ram
- After speaking with Stanislav, head into the woods east or southeast of Apollonia and look for the ram.
- Keep a carrot in Henry’s inventory. PowerPyx reports that the ram will follow when he has one.
- Walk slowly and stay close to the animal. It may stop following if Henry gets too far away.
- Lead the ram back to Stanislav and guide it into the pen.
- Once the ram is in the pen, speak with Stanislav to complete the task.
How to handle wolves on the route
Both walkthroughs warn that wolves may threaten the ram. Stay nearby and deal with threats rather than leaving the animal behind. Gamer Guides recommends parrying and counterattacking, and using Mutt to draw the wolves’ attention where possible.

PowerPyx says unarmed kicks can knock wolves out without counting as kills for the Lent trophy or achievement. That option may be useful if you are pursuing Lent; the guide does not establish that it is necessary for completing the task.
What happens if the ram dies?
Gamer Guides reports that the task can still be completed if the ram dies, although Stanislav responds with disappointment. Returning the ram alive is the better outcome described by the guides and is associated with the reported reward.

Carrot on a Stick rewards
The published reward reports do not fully agree, so treat the exact amount and contents as guide-reported rather than guaranteed across versions. PowerPyx lists Survival XP, reputation, 12 Groschen, cheap wine, a weak Marigold decoction, two bandages, two dried apples, a cooked carrot, and a Lucky Die. Gamer Guides summarizes the return-with-ram reward as 15 Groschen, food, and a Lucky Die.
Neither guide identifies the game patch for its reported mechanics or rewards, so the figures should not be assumed to apply identically to every version.

What to do after the task
PowerPyx reports that completing the shepherd tasks through “Carrot on a Stick” leads Stanislav to mark “Hunting the Werewolf,” north of Semine.
