Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s developer-console commands are for PC; current guides say the standard PlayStation and Xbox versions do not expose this console. There is no confirmed, versioned list of every command supported by the September 2026 retail build, so treat the commands below as documented examples and check your installed game with ?_ when an entry is rejected.
Enable the console in the Steam version
- Close the game.
- In your Steam Library, right-click Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and choose Properties.
- On the General page, enter
-devmodein Launch Options. - Close Properties, relaunch the game, and load a save.
- Press the physical key below Esc and to the left of
1on an English keyboard layout. The printed character varies by layout; the cited guide gives^for a German keyboard.
These are guide-reported Steam instructions, not a claim that every PC storefront or keyboard layout uses identical steps. Some display variables may work without developer mode, but money, item, and gameplay commands generally require -devmode. A command may run without a success message, so check the relevant inventory, Groschen total, or setting.
Documented KCD2 console commands
The following syntax and effects are reported by a current KCD2 command guide. They are useful examples, not a guaranteed complete list for every game build.

Item IDs for adding a lockpick
The guide lists two identifiers for a lockpick. Use either one in place of ITEM_ID in wh_cheat_addItem:

For multiple copies, the guide recommends repeating the base add-item command rather than relying on an appended quantity.

How to check which commands your build recognizes
Enter ?_ in the console to display commands recognized by the installed build. If a copied command returns “unknown command,” use that in-game output as the best available check rather than assuming a command from an older online list still applies. No authoritative, exhaustive, build-specific list of vanilla commands is established for the September 2026 retail version.
Keep mod-loader references separate from vanilla commands: one broad reference documents mod-provided entries such as perk, skill or stat, item-search, and teleport commands. Those entries should not be treated as native game commands. PC Gamer also publishes selected commands and points to an item-ID list, but that article is not an official inventory tied to a specific build.

Why a console command may not work
- The console will not open: Confirm that
-devmodeis in Steam’s Launch Options and that you restarted the game after adding it. Check the physical key for your keyboard layout rather than relying on the symbol shown on an English keyboard. - The game says “unknown command”: Enter
?_and check whether the installed build recognizes the command. It may be outdated, mistyped, or provided by a mod rather than the base game. - Nothing appears to happen: Some commands may produce no confirmation. Check the inventory, Groschen total, or affected setting.
- A teleport puts Henry in danger: Incorrect coordinates can put him below the terrain. Use
wh_rpg_getLocationto record the three values at a known location before experimenting.
Save safely before using cheats
Create a separate save before commands that alter gameplay. The current command guides warn that spawning quest items or teleporting into a locked area can disrupt progression; a backup gives you a way to return to a known state.
