Spoilers for the Invaders side quest. For the fullest peaceful route, warn Vasko calmly, accept his drink, and agree that the Cumans will avoid Troskowitz. The Cuman camp is below the Nomads’ Camp near Rocktower Pond; helping Jasak is optional.

How to start the Invaders quest

The quest can begin with a tavern scene after time has passed during free exploration. Betty may ask Henry to serve Vasko and his men, who request bread and sausages. Pick up the ordinary food from the pantry, serve the table, then try to calm the confrontation. If a fistfight breaks out, use unarmed attacks and avoid lethal force.

If the diners do not appear, the quest may still be available: ask Betty about the incident, then speak with Vuytek to continue toward the Cuman camp. These quest details are reported by independent walkthroughs, not official developer documentation; NPC schedules and triggers can vary by platform, patch, and save.

Where is the Cuman camp?

Speak with Vuytek, who points Henry toward Semine for information. Ask Lord Semine, Captain Gnarly, or other witnesses for leads to Rocktower Pond and the Nomads’ Camp. From the Nomads’ Camp, take the southern forest path down toward the pond. Look for a separate campfire and tents with armed Cumans: this is not the friendly Nomad camp itself.

KCD2.org’s Invaders walkthrough, KCD2Quest’s camp guide, and GamerBlurb’s walkthrough independently describe the camp as near the pond and below the Nomads’ Camp.

Should you fight the Cumans?

No. Fighting is a valid shorter route, but it can close off much of the camp’s social sequence. For the fuller narrative route, approach Vasko calmly and say Henry came to warn him. Threatening him can turn the encounter hostile. Accept his drink to continue the longer sequence, including the optional Jasak scene and the later moonshine and agreement steps.

Choice What it changes Best suited to
Warn Vasko calmly and accept his drink Keeps the longer camp dialogue available, including optional Jasak scenes, the moonshine sequence, and the agreement. Players who want the fullest peaceful route.
Threaten or attack Can trigger violence and skip social scenes. Players who prefer a shorter, hostile route.
Decline to help Jasak Skips the matchmaking detour but leaves the drinking route open. Players who want the main peaceful sequence without the side scene.

Do you have to help Jasak?

No. After Henry drinks with Vasko, Vasko may ask for help getting Jasak to speak with a woman at the Nomads’ Camp. You can decline and continue the drinking sequence. If you help, choose respectful responses and follow the dialogue check displayed in your game. Walkthroughs do not establish one Speech or Charisma threshold that is guaranteed across versions and circumstances.

A failed attempt may lead to a fistfight. Keep weapons and Mutt out of it to reduce the chance of escalating the surrounding group.

How to find the Odd Moonshine and secure the agreement

  1. After the Jasak scene, if you chose to do it, return to Vasko and continue drinking.
  2. When the active objective asks for more alcohol, follow the on-screen marker and the companion named by your current objective. Walkthroughs differ on whether that companion is always Jasak or Vasko, so use the journal rather than assuming a fixed sequence.
  3. Retrieve the Odd Moonshine near the rocks and return to camp promptly. The optional drinking objective may fail if Henry wanders into another quest area.
  4. Continue through the pond scene, then persuade or pay the Cumans to agree to avoid Troskowitz.
  5. After waking, collect and equip Henry’s clothes, return to Troskowitz, and report to Vuytek.

What should you tell Vuytek?

Report what actually happened. If Henry spared the Cumans and secured their agreement, tell Vuytek that they will avoid Troskowitz. The walkthrough source KCD2.org reports that a successful final impression can earn 25 Groschen; it also says the quest can conclude if the check fails, though reputation may suffer.

You can claim that the Cumans were killed after sparing them, but that is an optional lie, not a completion requirement. The game may test whether Vuytek believes it.

What to do if the quest seems stuck

Reports about tavern schedules, NPC movement, accidental aggression, and quest triggers are player observations rather than confirmed bug fixes. Try these low-risk steps:

  • Keep a save before approaching the Cuman camp.
  • Follow the active journal objective and marker, especially during the moonshine sequence.
  • Avoid weapons and Mutt during fistfights.
  • Finish optional conversations promptly instead of wandering into another quest area.
  • If the tavern diners never appear, ask Betty about the incident and continue through Vuytek.
  • If a nonviolent recovery does not work, reload the earlier save rather than attacking quest NPCs or relying on an unverified workaround.

The route and recovery details above are reported in independent guides, including KCD2.org’s guide, updated September 22, 2026. They are not guaranteed fixes for every save.
