The Spark is a late-game Kuttenberg guild quest. Complete Via Argentum and The Thieves’ Code, wait a few in-game days, then fast travel in Kuttenberg until a Guild messenger encounter appears. The messenger directs Henry to Chenyek at the Hole in the Wall tavern. From there, choose whether to support Chenyek, help Knuckles take over, or report the conspiracy to the law before committing to the mine sabotage.

How to start The Spark
- Complete Via Argentum and The Thieves’ Code.
- Let a few in-game days pass, then fast travel in Kuttenberg. The Guild messenger encounter is random, so continue passing time and fast traveling if it does not appear.
- Speak to the messenger and go to the Hole in the Wall tavern to meet Chenyek.

Choose your side before getting the powder
Chenyek’s plan is to sabotage the silver mine near Horschan. Knuckles proposes killing Chenyek and taking control of the guild instead. A third option is to report the plan to Bailiff Andreas Plümel, which leads toward law-aligned outcomes documented in the INARA quest database.

- Support Knuckles: Turn against Chenyek and pursue a change in guild leadership.
- Report the conspiracy: Tell Bailiff Plümel and follow the law-aligned branch.
The walkthrough reports that The Spark and Civic Duty cannot both be completed. If you want to pursue Civic Duty, consider that before accepting or progressing the guild job. The available sources establish the conflict and several outcomes, but not a complete set of requirements for every branch.
Where to find Whisker’s cart and the keg
- Ask gunsmith Master Prokop Eldris about a powder shipment. The walkthrough says intimidation or bribery can reveal its location; intimidation may cost reputation.
- Travel north of Bohunowitz toward the river. If Bohunowitz is unavailable as a fast-travel destination, the walkthrough suggests Devil’s Den as a nearby alternative.
- Find Whisker and his crew with a stuck cart. The guide reports that a successful Charisma check can gain their cooperation, or you can buy the keg.
- Get the key from Whisker, open the chest beside the cart, and take the Black Powder Keg.
- Bring the keg to the guildsmen near Horschan mine.
These dialogue options and location directions are reported by the Game Checklists walkthrough; exact checks can depend on Henry’s stats and dialogue choices.

Plant the keg at Horschan mine and escape
- Meet Goliath and the guild group at their campfire near Horschan mine.
- Wait until evening. The walkthrough estimates around 10:30 p.m.; treat that as a guide’s timing rather than a fixed, independently verified trigger.
- Follow the distraction with Goliath into the mine. In the tunnels, continue to the crossroads, turn right, and take the ladders down to the lowest level.
- Find the support beam marked by a reddish rag or red scarf and place the keg there. The marker and escape objective are also recorded in the INARA quest database.
- Use a torch to light the fuse, then get out quickly. The walkthrough estimates about two minutes to escape; the database describes the escape as urgent but does not independently establish that timing.
After the blast, the quest can branch into objectives involving the guards or guildsmen. The walkthrough says Henry may fight, flee, or try an Intimidation check when confronted by soldiers. Follow the objective shown in your journal: later tasks can include returning to the Hole in the Wall, collecting a reward, retrieving a barrel or document, or speaking with the bailiff, depending on the branch. These are conditional outcomes, not one mandatory sequence for every player.
