There is no single best horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance: the right mount depends on whether you value speed, carrying capacity, courage, or stamina. Warhorse Jenda at Merhojed is a strong all-round base-game choice; Pegasus, Trojan, Kanthaka, and Chollima lead in specific listed attributes. Pebbles is the free early-game mount, while Pribyslavitz horses require the From the Ashes DLC and the relevant settlement stable choice.
How to choose a horse
Horse reference tables compare mounts on four attributes: speed for travel pace, capacity for carried weight, courage for resistance to being frightened into bolting, and stamina for galloping endurance. The highest value in one category does not make a horse best for every player. The horse reference lists traders around Neuhof, Uzhitz, and Merhojed, as well as Pribyslavitz for the DLC.

Best base-game horses by priority
The figures below are values reported in a community reference table, not results from independent gameplay testing. The table pages could not be directly opened for verification, and exact values may depend on game version or transcription. Check the in-game horse trader if an exact stat or price is important.
| Horse | Where to get it | Listed stats | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warhorse Jenda | Merhojed | Speed 41; capacity 268; courage 17; stamina 450. Listed price: 2540, but community references differ, so check the trader. | Balanced base-game choice |
| Pegasus | Uzhitz | Speed 42, the highest listed value | Speed |
| Trojan | Neuhof | Capacity 292, the highest listed value | Carrying capacity |
| Kanthaka | Uzhitz | Courage 20, the highest listed value | Courage |
| Chollima | Neuhof | Stamina 510, the highest listed value | Galloping endurance |
The reference table supports treating these as specialist picks rather than declaring one universal winner. An official-forum discussion also describes Jenda as a strong all-rounder and notes that tack can have a substantial effect on speed; it does not establish an exact numerical tack bonus. Pebbles: the free early-game mount
Pebbles is given in Rattay during “The Hunt Begins,” so you do not need to buy a horse to get started. The reference table lists speed 34, capacity 172, courage 8, and stamina 210. Those listed values make Pebbles a practical no-cost starter, but not a standout when optimizing for one of the four attributes. See the Pebbles reference.

Agro, Shadowfax, and Shadowmere are listed as Pribyslavitz horses tied to the settlement stable choice in the From the Ashes DLC. They are not ordinary base-game alternatives available simply by visiting a trader. The reference table lists Shadowmere with capacity 292, and lists speed 42 for both Shadowfax and Shadowmere. Consult the horse reference for the DLC entries.
