If Kingdom Come: Deliverance II keeps crashing on PC, start by identifying when it happens, checking the PC against the game’s minimum requirements, and installing any available game update. If the crash continues, use your launcher’s file-repair option if available, then report a reproducible issue to PLAION with the diagnostic details it requests. These are sensible checks, not a guaranteed fix: the official sources reviewed do not identify one cause or remedy for every PC crash.
First, identify when the crash happens
Before changing settings, note whether KCD2 crashes on startup, while loading a save, at a repeatable location or action, or unpredictably during play. Record the storefront, game version, Windows version, CPU, GPU, installed RAM, and whether other demanding applications also crash. This information can help you describe how often the problem occurs and how to reproduce it if you contact support.
Check whether your PC meets the minimum requirements
Steam’s current listing, accessed in 2026, gives these minimum and recommended specifications for the PC version:

Compare your actual CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows version, available storage, and drive type with the minimum column. Falling short is a compatibility concern worth noting; meeting the requirements does not establish that your hardware or the game is the cause of a particular crash. Install available game updates
Check for updates in the launcher where you installed the game. PLAION’s support hub lists Patch 1.5.6 as its newest entry at the time of review. Its listed changes address Steam Controller support, control-scheme behavior, credits, a Hardcore-mode UI issue, and quest issues; they do not describe a general PC-crash fix. Patch availability and notes can change, so consult the PLAION KCD II support hub for the current status rather than assuming a particular update will stop every crash.
Use your launcher’s file-repair option, if available
A launcher’s built-in verification or repair feature is a reasonable check if game files may be incomplete or damaged. Steam documents a file-verification workflow in its Verify Integrity of Game Files instructions. Other launchers may offer their own repair option; follow the instructions in the launcher you use and let the process finish before starting the game again. This is a general file-integrity check, not a fix PLAION has confirmed for all KCD2 crashes.

Test graphics settings one change at a time
PLAION’s Technical FAQ identifies CryEngine as the game engine and lists PC support for DLSS 3.7.10 and FSR 3.1.0. It does not say that changing an upscaler resolves crashes. If the problem appears tied to a graphics setting, treat a change as a limited diagnostic test:
- Write down the setting’s current value before changing it.
- Change only one setting, such as the upscaler, so you can tell whether that specific change affects the symptom.
- Repeat the same action or location that previously triggered the crash.
- If the result does not help, restore the original value before testing something else.
See PLAION’s Technical FAQ and support information for its published technology details. Avoid escalating to registry edits, deleting arbitrary files, disabling security tools, blanket driver rollbacks, or buying replacement hardware without evidence specific to your PC.

Report a crash that you can reproduce
If the problem persists, PLAION’s bug-report instructions ask you to select the game and platform, choose “Report a Bug,” and include the steps that reproduce the issue, how often it occurs, troubleshooting already attempted, and screenshots or video where useful. For a PC report, attach DxDiag and MsInfo files. Follow the current directions in PLAION’s support hub; it also directs players to contact support if the help center does not answer their question.
