The PS5 KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] bundles three releases: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. It is not a set of twelve fully playable games: two entries are cutscene compilations, and another is presented as a movie. Melody of Memory is not listed among the included contents.
What’s included in the PS5 collection?
Square Enix’s official collection contents group the package into three parts. The list below preserves the publisher’s distinctions between playable releases, a short episode, a movie, and cutscene compilations.
KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-
- KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
- KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories
- KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
- KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days — an HD cutscene compilation
- KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
- KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded — an HD cutscene compilation
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD — described as a full-HD remaster
- KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover — an HD movie
- KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – — a short episode
KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind
This part contains KINGDOM HEARTS III and the Re Mind DLC. Square Enix describes Re Mind as an additional chapter set during the climax of KINGDOM HEARTS III.
What’s missing?
Melody of Memory is separate
KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory is a separate rhythm-action game, not part of the collection’s published contents. Square Enix lists it as its own product with separate platform editions; see the official Melody of Memory page. Its absence here does not by itself establish that it is required to understand the stories in this bundle.

- To play the physical version of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III], an internet connection and additional data download are required.
Don’t count every listed story as a playable game
358/2 Days and Re:coded appear here as HD cutscene compilations, while χ Back Cover is identified as a movie. The contents list therefore supports describing this as a collection of games and story presentations, not twelve fully playable games or playable remasters of every original release.
The official contents list establishes that Melody of Memory is outside this bundle, but it is not an exhaustive catalog of every Kingdom Hearts release. Claims about other omissions depend on what counts as a game, remake, mobile title, or story collection.

PS5 release and buying details
Square Enix announced PS5 availability for October 8, 2026. Its June 10, 2026 announcement describes the collection as available natively on current-generation consoles, rather than as a cloud version. The announced date is in the future as of October 7, 2026; check the retailer or regional store for current availability.
Square Enix lists a physical PS5 edition, but the disc is not described as fully playable without an internet connection: the publisher says an additional data download is required. The North American Square Enix Store listing does not state the download size or specify exactly what is playable before the download completes. Digital availability is also established by the official pages, but pricing varies by region and can change, so check the store serving your account rather than relying on a price from another market.

The PlayStation Store listing for Canada advertises a PS5-exclusive “Midnight Blue” Keyblade and said eligible preorders placed by 11:59 p.m. on October 7, 2026 would receive 48 hours of early access. Those terms are regional and time-sensitive; check the Canadian PlayStation Store listing for current status rather than assuming the offer applies elsewhere or remains available.
