How to choose a shield
Compare shields by the Strength bonus, the ability you want, and the effort or progression needed to obtain them. These are different trade-offs rather than a single universal ranking.
- For straightforward progression: Shop shields have clear Munny costs and become available through the listed shops. Dreamcloud is described as a strong attack-focused shield, with +4 Strength and no ability.
- For a particular ability: Check the ability column rather than choosing on Strength alone. For example, Genji Shield grants Hyper Healing in Final Mix; the original KHII version lists Lucky Lucky instead.
- For stronger equipment: Synthesis, enemy drops and tournament completion have distinct prerequisites. Enemy drops are chance-based, while a cup reward requires completing its cup.
- For damage absorption: Majestic Mushroom and Majestic Mushroom+ have Protect abilities that absorb some damage taken. Their acquisition depends on Mushroom XIII performance rank.
Mushroom XIII shield rewards and drop rates
The Mushroom XIII rewards are specific to Final Mix. The Majestic Mushroom entry lists a 25% drop chance at rank C and 85% at rank B. Its +5 Strength and Protect ability are described as absorbing 10% of damage taken.
