A May 20, 2026 report says the official Kingdom Hearts IV website no longer presents references connecting the game to Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link in the same way. That is a reported site change, not a Square Enix announcement: it does not establish when or exactly what changed, signal that Kingdom Hearts IV news is imminent, or explain what will happen to Missing-Link story material.
What reportedly changed on the Kingdom Hearts IV website?
Position is Everything reported on May 20, 2026, that references linking Kingdom Hearts IV and Missing-Link had been removed or changed on the official Kingdom Hearts IV website. The article interprets the change as separating the canceled mobile project from the active game’s promotional path. That interpretation is the outlet’s, not an explanation issued by Square Enix. Did Square Enix officially cancel Missing-Link?
The May 2026 report describes Missing-Link as canceled. The official Square Enix pages available here do not document that cancellation: one is a historical overview of planned beta testing, and the other is a software disclosure page. They should not be treated as confirmation of the project’s later status.

Does the site change mean Kingdom Hearts IV news is coming soon?
No. A change to how a website presents a connection between projects does not establish a trailer schedule, release date or upcoming announcement. Position is Everything likewise says the change does not guarantee a trailer. No surfaced Square Enix announcement connects the reported edit to an upcoming event.
Claims that the change hints at imminent news are speculation, not a conclusion supported by the reported edit.

Will Missing-Link’s story appear in Kingdom Hearts IV?
The available sources do not say whether story material planned for Missing-Link will be reused, summarized or left out of Kingdom Hearts IV. The reported website change does not answer that question, so it would be premature to predict how the two games’ stories will relate.
