Update: The pre-registration announcement is no longer current. Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance launched on July 25, 2024. Its defining change is the ability to control two heroes at once, set against a story in which Linirea’s heroes and the Dark Army join forces against a greater threat.
When did Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance come out?
Ironhide Game Studio announced pre-orders on March 22, 2024, and named July 25 as the game’s release day. The studio said the game was available on July 5, 2024, while its official game page and Steam listing give July 25, 2024 as the release date. Ironhide’s launch announcement and its Steam listing therefore establish the July 25 date; the earlier July 5 post announced availability ahead of that listed date. The original pre-registration framing is historical, not a current signup offer.
What is new in Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance?
Two heroes under your control
The central gameplay change is that players can command two heroes simultaneously. Ironhide presents the mechanic as a way to create additional strategic possibilities and new combat dynamics. The game remains a tower-defense quest: players defend across varied terrain while directing heroes and building a mix of defenses. Ironhide’s official game page highlights returning tower archetypes alongside new options.
An unlikely alliance and a wider tower roster
The story brings together Linirea’s heroes and the Dark Army. Ironhide’s March 2024 announcement describes Denas and Vez’nan setting aside their differences when a cosmic threat endangers their world. Featured towers include Archers, Paladins, Demon Pits, Dwarven Flamespitters, and Eldritch Channelers.

How the editions and release dates differ
The original release and the later Apple Arcade edition have different dates and storefront terms; they are not simply the same platform edition.

Why the announcement is still useful
The old headline’s dates need updating, but the announcement captures the game’s main hook: the familiar tower-defense format is paired with simultaneous control of two heroes and a story-driven alliance between former rivals. For the current version and platform-specific details, use the official game page or the relevant storefront listing.
