What game did the presentation cover?
Kirby Air Riders is a vehicle action game for Nintendo Switch 2, not an original Nintendo Switch release. Nintendo describes riders using different machines, collecting power-ups, racing on courses, and taking to the air. The game launched November 20, 2025; Nintendo’s current product page marks it available now. Nintendo’s Kirby Air Riders product page lists the platform and availability.
Nintendo of America described the action this way: “Charge, boost, and spin to attack your rivals in this vehicle action game featuring Kirby and crew”. Its August 19 Direct page also introduced the game to viewers as an upcoming Switch 2 title.

How can you play with other people?
Nintendo describes online matches, local play on one system, and local wireless play. Online features require a Nintendo Account and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo says the membership is sold separately and is not available in all countries; that requirement applies to online features, not as a blanket condition for every local play option. Details are on Nintendo’s product page.

- Bandana Waddle Dee has joined Kirby and others on several adventures. Bandana Waddle Dee is small, but has a big heart—and a big spear that stings like a hornet! In the Kirby Air Riders game, Bandana Waddle Dee and others can ride machines like the Winged Star: an Air Ride Machine that is slow on the ground but soars gracefully in flight.
- In the Kirby Air Riders game, place this Bandana Waddle Dee amiibo on the Winged Star amiibo to create a Rider & Air Ride Machine combo. Tap the amiibo to train it up as a FP (Figure Player), which will gain FP levels and machine proficiency. If you have another Air Ride Machine amiibo, you can place Kirby amiibo onto the other machine to create a new Rider & Air Ride Machine combo and earn machine proficiency. Kirby will retain FP levels when placed and tapped with a different machine.
- Get cool in-game extras with amiibo accessories and compatible games. Just tap an amiibo accessory to the NFC touchpoint to enjoy fun in-game extra features in compatible games on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
