Knuckle Paradise is a single-player beat ’em up with character-action influences, set in an abandoned amusement park. Its Steam listing tags it as open world, but the English description does not define the map’s size or structure—so the label is best treated as a clue to exploration, not a promise of a seamless open world.

What is Knuckle Paradise?

Developed and published by Flying Oak Games and ARTE France, Knuckle Paradise follows Jane, a retired boxer stranded on an island with an abandoned amusement park. The store description says she is forced into an underground martial-arts tournament and teams up with Cocotte, a warrior chicken. The game is listed for single-player play. Steam store listing

How does its combat compare with Bayonetta?

The developers cite Devil May Cry and Bayonetta as inspirations. Steam describes combat as fast, combo-based and aerial, with attacks sending Jane and enemies flying. That establishes the intended character-action influence; it does not establish that the game’s combat systems or depth match either series.

Mechanics the developer has disclosed

Flying Oak Games has described perfect evades, a special-move gauge for Cocotte, attacks that players must avoid, and opponents protected by shields. These details point to timing and companion abilities as parts of the combat, but the available descriptions do not explain their full rules or how they develop over the game. Is Knuckle Paradise open world?

Steam applies an Open World tag, and a localized curator-linked Steam listing describes freely exploring the abandoned park. The main English description also mentions exploring the park, but does not specify its scale, layout, or whether areas connect seamlessly. The confirmed takeaway is that exploration is part of the pitch; the label alone is not enough to establish a particular open-world structure.

What activities and collectibles are described?

The Steam description highlights several park-related set pieces and collectibles:

  • Stealth at a nightclub, car chases and a mirror house.
  • Hidden martial-arts magazines.
  • Protein bars that, according to the description, increase Jane’s maximum health.

These are features mentioned in promotional store copy, not independently verified gameplay findings.

When does Knuckle Paradise release, and where can you play it?

As of the Steam listing checked for this article, the full game is marked “Coming soon”; the listing does not give a full-game release date or price. A separate Steam demo listing reports an October 8, 2026 release. Steam lists Windows, macOS and SteamOS/Linux requirements for the game. Dates and requirements can change, so check the current Steam listing for updates.
