That omission applied to the first notice—not to every later update: Konami subsequently said it was working on performance stabilization across platforms. The official patch notes document that work, but do not establish whether PC performance was fixed.
What Konami’s first notice said—and left out
On August 27, 2025, the official METAL GEAR account posted: “We’ve received reports of several issues and are preparing a patch to address them. We’ll share an update as soon as it’s ready. Thank you for your patience and support.” The statement, reproduced in Push Square’s August 28 report, acknowledged issues generally. It did not name PC performance or specify which problems the patch would address.

That distinction matters. The initial notice was silent on PC performance; it would be inaccurate to say Konami never acknowledged performance concerns. Push Square’s report focused on PS5 performance, so it supports the wording and scope of the notice, not a technical assessment of the PC version.
How Konami’s response developed
Launch-period reports
On September 5, 2025, PC Gamer reported launch-period frame drops and said Konami was investigating causes and working on a patch. The report said there was no estimated release date at that time; it is not a benchmark of the game’s present performance.

September: performance stabilization added to the work list
In a September 8 Steam update, Konami listed performance stabilization as work in progress for all platforms and said it expected the work to take time. The same update listed Steam ultrawide (21:9) support and an in-game way to view the PC’s operating environment among open requests.
October: an adjustment appears in the patch notes
Konami’s October 30, 2025, version 1.2.1 notes list a performance-stability adjustment. They also list Steam ultrawide support, while noting that some screens remain fixed at 16:9, and a Steam feature to view the operating environment in game. These notes confirm that changes were made; they do not quantify an FPS gain or provide a before-and-after PC test.

January: later notes do not report a performance measurement
The latest official update in the linked update sequence is version 1.2.4, dated January 26, 2026. Its listed changes are text corrections and minor fixes. That update record does not establish a current PC performance result, and patch notes alone cannot show whether the earlier concern was resolved.

- Established: the first public bug notice did not mention PC performance, and Konami later explicitly listed performance stabilization among its work across platforms.
- Established: version 1.2.1 included a performance-stability adjustment.
- Not established: how much performance changed, whether frame drops were eliminated, or how the game performs across specific PC configurations today. The cited official notes do not provide controlled measurements, and the launch-period reporting is not a current test.
So the accurate takeaway is narrower than either “Konami ignored PC performance” or “the patch fixed it”: the first notice omitted the issue, later updates acknowledged performance work, and the available patch record does not prove the outcome for PC players.
