“Korean Lover Game” was a phrase used in early Ghaziabad case coverage, not a verified app title. Later police reporting said app use had not been confirmed.

“Korean Lover Game” is a phrase used in early reports about the deaths of three sisters in Ghaziabad, India—not a verified name for a specific app. Initial coverage described a possible task-based game as an investigative angle; later reports said police had found no evidence confirming that the sisters used a Korean task-based app. The available reporting does not establish that a game existed under that name or caused the deaths.

What does “Korean Lover Game” refer to?

It is a headline and search phrase associated with early coverage of the deaths of Nishika, Prachi and Pakhi, reported as 16, 14 and 12 years old. The Indian Express reported that the sisters died on February 4, 2026. Early reports discussed online gaming and phone use as possible factors police were investigating, but did not identify a particular app. The Indian Express’s February 4 report and its February 5 follow-up describe that early reporting context.

“Korean task-based game,” “Korean task-based app” and “Korean love game” are also phrases used in coverage. They should be understood as descriptions of an allegation or investigative angle, not as a confirmed product title.

How did the police account develop?

Date What reporting said
February 4–5, 2026 Early reports described a possible link to a Korean task-based online game and heavy phone use as matters under investigation. No app was named or verified in the cited coverage. The Indian Express, February 4; The Indian Express, February 5
February 6, 2026 Police-linked reporting said investigators had not found evidence confirming use of a Korean task-based app and were trying to verify device histories. The Tribune, February 6
February 11, 2026 A report said police recovered a phone sold before the deaths for forensic examination; it also said the initial investigation had not revealed use of a Korean task-based app. The Tribune, February 11
February 23–24, 2026 Later coverage said police had completed a detailed inquiry and ruled out foul play. Hindustan Times attributed to DCP Nimish Patil the conclusion that the deaths were suicides amid the family’s past and prevailing conditions and the girls’ online-content interests. This is a reported police conclusion, not an independently established causal diagnosis. Hindustan Times, February 24

What is—and is not—verified?

What the reports support

  • Early coverage reported a possible task-based-game connection as an investigative angle.
  • Reports citing police on February 6 said there was no evidence confirming use of a Korean task-based app at that point.
  • Later coverage reported that police concluded their inquiry and ruled out foul play.

What the reports do not establish

  • The name, developer, platform or mechanics of a specific app.
  • A verified list of tasks supposedly associated with a game.
  • That the sisters used such an app or that an app directly caused their deaths.
  • That Korean culture or online media caused the deaths.

Because investigators were reported to be checking device histories and a phone was sent for forensic examination, early claims should not be treated as confirmed findings. The cited reporting does not supply a verified app identification or establish causation.

Why did Korean culture and a diary appear in the coverage?

Reports discussed references to Korean culture in a note and diary, along with the sisters’ online-content interests and family circumstances. Those details may help explain why early coverage focused on Korean media, but they do not demonstrate that a game or Korean content caused the deaths. India Today’s February 4 report used “K-culture obsession” in its headline; that framing is a report description, not proof of an app or causal link. India Today, February 4

How to read headlines about the case

  • Treat “Korean Lover Game” as a label appearing in coverage, not the confirmed name of a game.
  • Distinguish the initial investigative possibility from the later police updates that said app use had not been confirmed.
  • Keep the reported police conclusion attributed to police reporting; do not convert it into a broader claim about why the deaths occurred.
  • Avoid assuming blame or causation from references to gaming, Korean culture, a diary or family circumstances.
