The white KTC M27P6, a 27-inch Mini LED gaming monitor with 4K/160Hz and 1080p/320Hz modes, was reported at $424.98 on Amazon on January 5, 2026. That winter-sale price is historical, not a confirmed current offer. Later records for a separate M27P6 Amazon listing show prices as low as $424.39, so the January deal is best described as a low price for the linked listing—not a verified all-time low across every listing.
What monitor was on sale?
The deal coverage identified the display as the KTC M27P6, a white 27-inch Fast IPS monitor with a Mini LED backlight. Its headline feature is dual mode: the same panel can run at 3840×2160 (4K) and up to 160Hz, or switch to 1920×1080 (FHD) and up to 320Hz. PC Guide reported the January 5 price and listed an HDR1400 claim, HDMI 2.1, and other gaming features in its winter-sale coverage.
A separate product and price-history record lists a 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight, 65W USB-C power delivery, DisplayPort 1.4, Adaptive-Sync, KVM, height adjustment, swivel, tilt, pivot, and VESA mounting. Treat those and HDR1400 as listing or product claims, not independent measurements of image quality.
What was the Amazon winter-sale price?
PC Guide reported $424.98 on January 5, 2026, around $75 below the article’s stated $499.99 list price. The article’s Amazon link points to ASIN B0F7LR12VW. The sale price should not be presented as available now: the cited deal was a dated promotion, and retailer prices, sellers, coupons, and stock can change.

Was $424.98 really the lowest price?
That depends on what “lowest” means. PC Guide described $424.98 as the winter-sale low for the deal it covered. However, the price-history record tracks a different Amazon ASIN, B0F7Q8ZWLY, and shows $424.99 on April 12, 2026, followed by $424.39 on April 25. It recorded $449.99 on August 12, 2026, after a drop from $499.99. These records make the January figure one of the lowest tracked prices, but they do not establish a single all-time low across both listings.
The ASIN mismatch matters: listings can differ by seller, condition, bundle, or other details even when product names look alike. Before comparing prices, check that the model, color, condition, seller, and included items match. The price-history figure is a tracking signal, not a guarantee of the live Amazon checkout price.

What do the two display modes mean for gaming?
4K at up to 160Hz
Use this mode when detail matters more than maximum frame rate: cinematic single-player games, high-resolution desktop work, and titles your PC can run smoothly at 4K. Driving high frame rates at 4K takes a capable graphics card; a 160Hz ceiling does not mean every game or system will reach it.
1080p at up to 320Hz
This mode prioritizes refresh rate for competitive games where very high frame rates and motion responsiveness may matter more than fine detail. It is still the same 27-inch 4K panel, not a separate native 1080p display. Running FHD on a 27-inch panel is noticeably less sharp than native 4K, and the mode is useful only if the computer and game can produce very high frame rates.

If competitive play is your main use, a native 1440p or 1080p high-refresh monitor may be a better fit: 1440p can retain more detail than FHD while reducing GPU load compared with 4K. The dual-mode idea is also used by other Mini LED monitors; for example, Tom’s Hardware’s AOC U27G4XM review describes a comparable 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz model. Its measurements and specifications are not evidence of the KTC’s performance.
What Mini LED adds—and what it does not
Mini LED uses many small backlight elements and local-dimming zones behind an LCD panel. Local dimming can improve contrast over ordinary edge-lit IPS and make bright HDR highlights more impactful. IPS also offers a different set of viewing and response characteristics from OLED.

Local dimming is not the same as OLED’s pixel-level control: bright objects on dark backgrounds can show halos, and black levels or uniformity may vary. HDR quality depends on dimming behavior, tone mapping, content, and calibration—not just a peak-brightness label. The M27P6’s HDR1400 designation and the price-history record’s 1,152-zone figure should therefore be read as product-listing specifications, not proof of independently measured HDR results.
Is it useful for work as well as gaming?
At native 4K, the M27P6 offers a detailed desktop for text and creative applications. The listed 65W USB-C power delivery could let some laptop users carry one cable for display and charging, while KVM may let one keyboard and mouse serve two connected computers. Whether 65W is enough depends on the laptop; some performance models need more power, especially under load.

The stand’s listed height, swivel, tilt, and pivot adjustments provide ergonomic flexibility, and VESA mounting offers another setup option. A wide color-gamut specification, where advertised, does not by itself establish factory color accuracy. For color-critical work, seek independent calibration testing and use appropriate calibration tools. Local dimming can also make image behavior less predictable for color work unless the monitor offers suitable controls. The white finish may suit a light-colored setup, but it can show dirt more readily.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should consider the M27P6?
- Hybrid gamers: You play both visually demanding games and competitive titles and will actually switch between 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz.
- 4K desktop users: You value detailed text and workspace as well as gaming refresh rates.
- Laptop owners: 65W USB-C charging and KVM would simplify your setup, and your laptop’s power needs fit the limit.
- HDR-focused buyers: You want a bright Mini LED LCD and accept that local dimming can bloom rather than expecting OLED-like blacks.
Who should look elsewhere?
- OLED-first buyers: Choose based on independently tested black levels, contrast, and motion behavior if those matter more than this monitor’s dual modes.
- Competitive-only players: A native 1440p or 1080p high-refresh screen may better match your games, GPU, and preference for sharpness at high frame rates.
- Color-critical professionals: Do not treat product gamut or HDR labels as substitutes for independent accuracy and calibration data.
- Buyers who want established support: Check the seller, warranty provider, and return terms carefully if brand support is a deciding factor.
- Anyone who dislikes white hardware: The finish is a visible part of the setup, not a performance feature.
How it compares with other options
| Option | What the cited coverage establishes | Best reason to compare |
|---|---|---|
| KTC M27P6 | January 5, 2026 deal reported at $424.98; 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz. The product record lists 65W USB-C and 1,152 zones; price tracking is for a different Amazon ASIN than the deal link. | Consider it if you want the KTC’s listed USB-C charging and white finish, and can verify the exact listing and support terms. |
| AOC U27G4XM | Tom’s Hardware reports 4K/160Hz, FHD/320Hz, 1,152 dimming zones, and HDR1000 for this comparable model. | Compare its independently reviewed category context; do not assume it has the KTC’s USB-C charging or white finish. |
| Acer Nitro 27-inch Mini LED dual-mode model | 9to5Toys reported a $349.99 deal on June 4, 2026, for a 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz model. The cited deal coverage does not establish current availability or every detail needed for a direct listing comparison. | Worth checking if price is the priority; confirm the exact model and current seller terms first. |
| LG UltraGear 27-inch dual-mode model | PC Guide reported a $496.99 deal on January 27, 2026. The cited coverage does not establish Mini LED. | Compare if LG branding is more important to you than matching the KTC’s Mini LED backlight. |
A conventional 1440p Mini LED display may also make more sense if your graphics card cannot make good use of 4K/160Hz. OLED is the more relevant comparison if deep blacks and per-pixel contrast matter more than the KTC’s two refresh modes.
What to verify before buying
- Match the listing: Confirm the M27P6 model, white finish, and ASIN. The deal article links to B0F7LR12VW; the price-history record tracks B0F7Q8ZWLY.
- Check seller and condition: Confirm whether it is new, renewed, or used, who sells it, and who fulfills it.
- Review the actual checkout total: Check for clipped coupons, membership requirements, shipping charges, and regional restrictions; the cited January coverage does not establish whether a coupon was required.
- Read the return and warranty terms: Verify the return window, dead-pixel policy, and who provides warranty support before ordering.
- Check what is included: Confirm the power supply and cables, and make sure your computer, GPU, and chosen cable/interface can support the resolution and refresh-rate combination you want.
- Inspect promptly after delivery: Check for dead pixels, backlight uniformity, blooming that bothers you, dust, and cosmetic issues while a return remains possible.
How to judge the price if it returns
About $425 or less would match the historical January deal and the later tracked lows, but only if the exact listing is comparable and the seller and return terms are acceptable. Above roughly $450, waiting or comparing OLED and lower-resolution Mini LED alternatives is reasonable if you are not in a hurry. Those are decision points based on the historical price signals, not a claim that a current offer is available or that the M27P6 is the cheapest option today.
