The claim is that KytyPS5 can now provide vibration with third-party gamepads. The official KytyPS5 repository provides project information and build guidance, but the reviewed page does not confirm this change. It also does not specify a first supporting build, tested controller models, connection modes, or games where vibration works.

A separate, non-official KytyPS5 feature page claims support for Xbox and generic gamepads, as well as DualSense haptics and adaptive-trigger features. It does not document tests of third-party vibration. Those claims are not official release notes, and general gamepad support is not proof that rumble works.

A separate compatibility page, labeled “Updated July 2026,” lists a generic racing-simulator entry with DualSense haptics working. Because the game label is generic and the page does not identify third-party controller tests, this is limited context—not evidence that a third-party pad vibrates in KytyPS5. What KytyPS5 supports as a project
The official repository describes KytyPS5 as a free, open-source PlayStation 5 translation layer for Windows and Linux, with experimental macOS support. It cautions that compatibility, stability, and performance vary between builds. These broad project details do not establish controller-vibration compatibility.
Linux gamepad setup has a separate caveat
The repository’s Linux build guidance warns that missing SDL3 audio, Wayland, and udev development packages can leave a build without working audio or gamepad hotplug. Hotplug means connecting or disconnecting a gamepad while the system is running; the build note is not a statement that vibration works. Check the guidance for the exact build and platform rather than assuming plug-and-play behavior.

How to assess a controller claim
No reviewed source identifies a tested third-party model or a repeatable vibration test. Until the implementation is documented, the practical checks are:

- Distinguish standard rumble from advanced haptics; the terms do not establish the same feature.
- Check the connection method—USB, Bluetooth, or a wireless dongle—because the reviewed sources do not state which, if any, are supported for vibration.
- Verify in the specific game. General controller recognition does not show that the game sends vibration feedback through the emulator.
A PC-compatible game controller with vibration is optional, but these sources do not support recommending a particular model or claiming that any controller will work.

What remains unverified
The reviewed sources do not establish which third-party controllers work, whether wired or wireless connections are required, which games trigger vibration, or whether support differs by operating system. The official repository also states that KytyPS5 is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or PlayStation and does not distribute games or copyrighted system software.
