If Larix Broadcaster stops streaming when you lock your OnePlus screen, check the phone’s battery and background-activity restrictions for Larix. Larix says Android background streaming is available by default until you explicitly close the app, but Android manufacturers can impose additional limits. The exact OnePlus settings depend on your model and OxygenOS version.
First, identify what stops after screen lock
Lock the screen during a test stream and check from another device whether the YouTube stream is still live. Also check the Larix app when you unlock the phone: does it remain open, or has it stopped or been closed? This helps distinguish a stream disconnect from the app being stopped in the background.
Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says Android background streaming is available by default: “On Android it’s available by default feature. Your app will work in background until you close it explicitly.” That describes Larix’s intended behavior, not a guarantee that every phone’s power management will allow an uninterrupted stream.
Allow Larix to run in the background
- Open your phone’s Settings and find Larix’s app settings. Use Settings search for “Larix” if the menus on your phone differ.
- Review its battery and background-activity controls. On OxygenOS 14, the OnePlus manual documents battery-usage and background-activity controls. Check whether Larix is restricted and, if your installed software offers the choice, permit the background activity needed for streaming.
- Check Android’s background-use state. Android describes unrestricted, optimized, and restricted states. If Larix is restricted, background work may be limited; allowing more background activity can help continuity, at a potential cost in battery life. See Android’s background-work and power documentation.
- Run another screen-lock test. Start Larix, lock the screen, and check the stream from another device. If the stream still disconnects, note whether Larix remained active when you unlocked the phone.
Menu names and available choices can differ by OnePlus model, region, and OxygenOS version. The OxygenOS 14 manual is a reference for that version, not a universal path for every OnePlus phone. Follow labels shown on your device or consult its current manual.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Should you lock Larix in Recents or choose “Don’t optimize”?
A third-party OnePlus troubleshooting guide mentions options such as “Don’t optimize” and locking an app in Recents. Treat these as version-dependent suggestions, not official steps that are present on every OnePlus device. Use them only if your phone exposes the option for Larix, and test the stream afterward.
Less restrictive background settings can increase power use. Neither OnePlus’s manual nor Android’s documentation gives a Larix-specific battery figure, so the effect will depend on your phone and streaming conditions.

If Larix still stops
- Larix closes or is no longer active: Recheck its battery and background-activity settings, including any restriction exposed by your OxygenOS version.
- Larix stays open but the stream disconnects: The available documentation does not establish a definitive OnePlus-specific fix for this case. Record the phone model, OxygenOS version, Larix version, and whether you explicitly closed the app, then provide those details when seeking support.
- The setting names do not match: Search Settings for Larix or battery/background activity, and use the manual for your installed OxygenOS version rather than assuming an OxygenOS 14 path applies.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream made from uploaded video, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload your video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay running at home; it is not a way to stream a live camera feed. StreamNeo supports video up to 4K 60fps as uploaded at one flat price per slot, can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream, and offers the first day free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
