League of Legends Patch 25.S1.1 launched the Noxus-themed first season in 2025, introducing Atakhan, Blood Roses and Feats of Strength alongside changes to Teleport, minions, turrets and objective timings. These are the patch’s original rules, not the current Rift: Riot removed Atakhan, Blood Roses and Feats of Strength in Patch 26.1.
What Patch 25.S1.1 changed
Riot published Patch 25.S1.1 on January 7, 2025, as the start of its first themed season, focused on Noxus. Its most consequential changes were new map presentation and match systems built around Atakhan, Blood Roses and Feats of Strength. It also adjusted Nexus turret respawns, Teleport, minion waves, turret defenses and major objective timings. Riot’s Patch 25.S1.1 notes include the full champion balance and bug-fix lists; this overview focuses on the main systems.
How the Noxian Rift looked
For Season 1, Riot gave minions, turrets and shopkeepers Noxian styling while retaining familiar visual areas, including the river and blue-buff zones, to preserve competitive clarity. Riot said the visual treatment would remain through Season 1. This was a presentation change, distinct from the patch’s mechanical changes to objectives, minions and turrets.
How Atakhan worked in the original patch
Atakhan spawned at 20:00 in the river near either top or bottom lane. By 14:00, the game revealed his pit and two permanent walls to indicate the chosen location. Riot selected the side based on which side had seen more champion damage and kills by 14 minutes; the amount of damage and kills also determined which of his two forms appeared.

| Form | Reward for the slaying team | Additional effect |
|---|---|---|
| Voracious Atakhan | Permanent 40-gold bonus on champion takedowns. | For 150 seconds, each team member had a one-time death-mitigation effect. If triggered, the player entered stasis for two seconds, then returned to base after another 3.5 seconds. The would-be killer received 100 gold and one Blood Petal for their team. |
| Ruinous Atakhan | A 25% increase to all Epic monster rewards for the rest of the game, including rewards from dragon stacks already earned. | The kill immediately granted six Bloody Petals and spawned six large and six small Blood Rose plants around the pit. |
Blood Roses and petals
Blood Roses could appear before 20:00 near champion deaths or Atakhan’s spawn area, and also appeared when Ruinous Atakhan was defeated. Picking a Blood Petal gave the picker’s team 25 XP, with the XP increased by up to 100% based on K/D/A—the lower the K/D/A, the greater the increase—and 1 to 0.33 Adaptive Force. Large roses dropped three petals; small roses dropped one. These figures describe Patch 25.S1.1, not current mechanics.
What Feats of Strength rewarded
Feats of Strength replaced the gold bonuses for First Blood and First Turret, and added Monster Slaying, earned by claiming three Epic monsters. The first team to complete any two of the three feats won the contest and upgraded its Tier 2 boots to Triumphant versions.

Afterward, that team could spend 750 gold on Tier 3 boot upgrades once it had completed at least two legendary items. Cassiopeia, who cannot buy boots, received an upgraded passive instead. Riot later removed Feats of Strength in Patch 26.1; First Blood and the first turret again granted gold.
Other major gameplay changes
Nexus turrets
Destroyed Nexus turrets respawned at full health after three minutes. Riot said the change was intended to make a match feel less decided once both Nexus turrets had fallen.

Teleport
The initial channel became three seconds instead of four. Teleport changed from a blink into an untargetable, unstoppable dash, with travel taking up to eight seconds depending on distance. Regular Teleport’s cooldown fell from 360 to 300 seconds. Unleashed Teleport’s arrival movement-speed duration increased from three to four seconds.
Minions and turret defenses
- Minion waves: Waves cleared faster early. Minion stats continued scaling farther into the game, with cannon and super-minion scaling capped at 90 minutes. The first cannon minion moved from wave three to wave four.
- Turret heat: Damage amplification increased from 40% per stack, up to 220%, to 50% per stack, up to 250%. Heat lasted five seconds rather than three.
- Top and mid turret Fortification: Damage reduction decreased from 85% to 50%.
Major objective timings
Rift Herald moved to 16:00 and Baron Nashor to 25:00, making room in the match timeline for Atakhan. These were the timings announced for Patch 25.S1.1, not a statement of current objective schedules.
