Leeks are spring forageables in Stardew Valley. Look most often in the Mountain and Backwoods, and consider keeping one for the Spring Foraging Bundle before selling or using it for crafting, cooking, tailoring, or gifts.
Where and when to find Leeks
Leeks spawn as spring forage around the valley. The Stardew Valley Wiki’s Leek entry lists the Mountain and Backwoods as the most common locations: 58% of spring forage items there are reported to be Leeks. The listed rates are 25% in the Forest and 20% each at the Bus Stop and Railroad. These are reported spawn probabilities, not a guarantee that a Leek will appear on a particular day. The entry also lists Beach farms.

You can also grow Leeks from Spring Seeds. During Spring, they may appear in garbage cans. A Statue of Endless Fortune produces a Leek on George’s birthday, Fall 24.
What to do with a Leek
Save one for the Spring Foraging Bundle
A Leek is required for the Spring Foraging Bundle in the Crafts Room. If that bundle is unfinished, set one aside before selling or using your only Leek.

Craft Spring Seeds or cook Salad
- Spring Seeds: Combine one Wild Horseradish, one Daffodil, one Leek, and one Dandelion to craft 10 Spring Seeds.
- Salad: Cook one Leek with one Dandelion and one Vinegar. The recipe arrives by mail from Emily at 3 or more hearts.
Use it for tailoring and dye
Place a Leek and Cloth in the Sewing Machine to make a Lime Green Tunic. A Leek can also be used as white dye with a dyeable clothing item.
Give it as a gift or fulfill a request
George loves Leeks. Harvey, Leah, Linus, and Penny like them. Evelyn mails a request for one Leek on Spring 15 of Year 2 for Granny’s Gift. A Help Wanted board request may also ask for one during Spring. The Gifts for George Special Order requires 12 Leeks and rewards 2,000g and a Coffee Maker.

The item entry also lists 7 Foraging XP for a Leek. Since sale value rises with quality, a higher-quality Leek may be more valuable to sell, while bundle, quest, recipe, and gift needs can make keeping one more useful.
