What room adjacency changes
Rooms are more than isolated reward choices: the official description says synergistic neighbors can level up, bringing greater challenge as well as greater rewards. That means the layout matters, but the benefit depends on which rooms interact. Because the official passages reviewed do not enumerate those combinations, verify room-specific effects in the current game or its current patch notes rather than assuming that any adjacent rooms will improve one another.
What changed about Temple rewards?
Grinding Gear Games later acknowledged feedback that Temple rewards did not scale enough, particularly in endgame. In an official improvement post, the developers said existing Temple modifier values were approximately doubled and that selected tier III rooms gained additional effects or monsters. Is the Temple still playable after the league?
Grinding Gear Games announced that Fate of the Vaal would end on May 25 PDT and that Atziri’s Temple would remain as a core Path of Exile 2 mechanic in Return of the Ancients. The announcement says characters and items would migrate to the Standard or Hardcore Early Access leagues, with no wipes. Its extracted date does not include a year, so the date should not be treated as a current upcoming deadline. The announcement’s core-mechanic plan is also version-specific; consult the official transition announcement and current patch notes to confirm how it is implemented now.

How this differs from Path of Exile’s Incursion Temple
Fate of the Vaal’s Atziri’s Temple should not be mistaken for Path of Exile 1’s Incursion league and its Temple of Atzoatl. Both are Vaal-themed temple activities, but the earlier Incursion mechanic is not the official name for this Path of Exile 2 league or its documented beacon-and-energy loop.
