The main launch was May 22, 2026; the Nintendo Switch 2 version followed on September 18, 2026. The Mayhem Collection DLC also launched September 18 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The right date depends on whether you mean the base game, Switch 2 release or DLC.
When did LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight come out?
The game’s release dates were staggered by platform:
- May 22, 2026: The main worldwide launch. TT Games announced the date on March 16, 2026, saying the game would “arrive early” that day.
- September 18, 2026: The Nintendo Switch 2 version launched, after the versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- September 18, 2026: The Mayhem Collection DLC launched for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The dates are past as of October 8, 2026. WB Games Support currently lists the game for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Why are there two release dates?
The initial announcement in August 2025 gave the game a 2026 window. TT Games later set May 22 as the main launch date. The Switch 2 edition arrived in a later release phase on September 18, when the Mayhem Collection DLC also became available. The dates describe different platform and content launches, not a single simultaneous release.

WB Games said the Nintendo Switch 2 Deluxe Edition physical release includes a LEGO Retro Video Game Batman minifigure while supplies last. The publisher also described an in-game Dark Knight Returns Batsuit as a preorder bonus for either Switch 2 edition.
