Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo reach the classic mainland endgame in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, build a working base, upgrade your tools to reach new materials, level a village, then follow the Storm Chasers questline through Storm Dungeons and Raven to the Storm King. The Journal and Village Hub are your live checklists: use them to see what your world currently requires rather than relying on a fixed materials list. Other Odyssey stories, including NINJAGO Island, have their own progression and are not prerequisites for the Storm King.
1. Start with shelter, crafting, and a village
After selecting Odyssey from Fortnite’s Discover menu and creating a world, begin with the survival-to-crafting loop: gather Wood, Granite, and Vines, then make a Campfire, Torch, shelter, and bed. Build a Crafting Bench for basic tools, and use machines such as the Lumber Mill to turn gathered resources into rods and planks for later recipes. Epic’s getting-started guide covers world creation and saving; LEGO’s survival guide outlines the early crafting loop.
Establish a village somewhere practical and interact with its Village Hub as you progress. A village needs both the materials shown for its next level and enough Village Rating. If the Hub will not let you level up, use its displayed requirements, then add buildings, decorations, and useful stations to raise the rating. The Hub is the authoritative checklist for your current village and level; requirements can vary by target level. See LEGO’s village guide.
2. Upgrade tools to unlock the next resource tier
Tool upgrades are the main progression gates: better gear lets you harvest materials that feed the next upgrade. Prioritize the Forest Axe, since its milestones open access to resources used later in the route. The table summarizes the access milestones in LEGO’s tool-upgrade guide. Treat the listed ingredients as a route reference, not a guaranteed current recipe: check the Crafting Bench in your live world before setting out.

Durability matters on longer trips. LEGO says tools break at zero durability and cannot be repaired, so carry spares or save your better tools for deposits that require them.
3. Explore caves in order, with the right gear
Large rock mounds mark caves in the Grasslands, Dry Valley, and Frostlands. Caves connect the biome resource tiers, but bring a Torch, a weapon and shield, healing supplies, and a tool capable of mining the deposit you want. Expect enemies and, in colder areas, temperature hazards. LEGO’s cave guide describes cave locations and resources.

| Where to explore | Useful materials | Progression and preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Grasslands caves | Knotroot and Marble | Use Knotroot to advance tools; bring an Uncommon Forest Axe for Knotroot and an Uncommon Pickaxe for Marble. |
| Dry Valley lava caves | Copper, Obsidian, Rough Ruby, and Brightcore | A Rare Pickaxe or better is needed for key deposits. Prepare for cave enemies and heat. |
| Frostlands ice caves | Iron and Rough Sapphire | An Epic Pickaxe is needed for these materials. Ice caves have tougher enemies, including Bone Wolves. |
For biome hazards, use current in-game effects and recipes rather than assuming older advice still applies. LEGO’s biome guide describes Snowberries and Snowberry Shakes for heat and Spicy Burgers for cold. However, Epic’s Hero Classes update says hunger no longer slows players and food provides buffs. Hunger is therefore not the old survival penalty; check current item descriptions for the effects that matter to your trip.
4. Keep leveling your village as you explore
Village progression runs alongside tool progression. The Hub shows the materials needed for the next level, while buildings, decorations, and stations contribute to Village Rating. Use that display instead of following an assumed universal checklist: a requirement for one target level is not necessarily the requirement for another.

As examples of what levels can unlock, LEGO says village level 9 expands villager foraging to other biomes, and level 10 adds another villager. Its specific Level 8-to-9 example lists Flexwood, Obsidian, and Cut Amber, and says the Metal Smelter blueprint unlocks at Level 9. Those details illustrate why it is useful to check the Hub for your own next level. Sources: LEGO’s village guide and Glass guide.
5. Follow the Storm Chasers to the Storm King
The Storm King is the clearest mainland endgame objective. Epic’s Storm Chasers update describes a quest-gated route: meet the Storm Chasers crew, follow their goals in the Journal, explore storm systems and Storm Dungeons, and substantially advance the Storm Chaser village. Raven appears after that village progress. Defeating Raven opens the arcane gateway at the center of the world’s largest storm; enter it to reach the multi-stage Storm King encounter. See Epic’s Storm Chasers announcement.

- Track the questline: Open the Journal and follow the active Storm Chasers goals. Use those objectives to determine what to do next rather than searching randomly for the storm.
- Build up the Storm Chaser village: Continue its goals and village progression until the Raven encounter becomes available.
- Defeat Raven: This opens the gateway that leads into the Storm King’s lair.
- Enter the gateway and fight the Storm King: Epic recommends bringing friends for the multi-stage battle. The announcement calls it “the ultimate test of your wits, battle skills, and survival instincts”; that is Epic’s promotional description, not an independent difficulty assessment.
If you cannot find a Storm biome, Epic Support advises progressing the Storm King questline to locate the storm in that world; do not assume it will appear just by searching longer. See Epic’s Storm biome support page.
Epic’s update also says Storm Dungeons repopulate after 24 hours with new paths, dangers, and puzzles, and that the Storm King can power back up after 24 hours for another fight and more rewards. These are reset mechanics stated in that update, not a guaranteed current schedule for every later patch; verify live behavior in-game.

6. Choose a next goal beyond the mainland boss
Odyssey’s wider endgame includes separate stories and activities. They can be worthwhile next goals, but do not treat them as steps in the Storm King prerequisite chain.
NINJAGO Island: a separate story and boss route
Epic’s NINJAGO launch update describes a story beginning at the Monastery, followed by the ICE, LIGHTNING, and EARTH Sanctums, where players learn elemental abilities before a final showdown. A 2026 update added FIRE abilities, a Scythe, a new boss encounter, and a repeatable challenge. Start with the current island objectives rather than expecting mainland Storm Chasers progress to unlock this route. Sources: Epic’s NINJAGO launch announcement and NINJAGO: Embers of Chaos update.
Knight Shift: a dated quest and recruitment track
As of October 8, 2026, Epic’s Knight Shift update listed its final quest drop for October 1–15, 2026. Completing the listed Week 1, 2, 5, and 6 quests rewards Bat-Gear and allows Batman recruitment. Because the stated event window ends October 15, 2026, check the live quest list to confirm that the quests are still available when you play. This timed track is separate from the permanent mainland route. Source: Epic’s Knight Shift update.
Quick troubleshooting when progress stalls
- A tool cannot harvest a deposit: Check the required tool tier in the live game, then upgrade at the Crafting Bench or return with the right pickaxe or axe.
- The village will not level: Check the Village Hub for its current material requirements and raise Village Rating with buildings, decorations, or stations.
- The Storm biome is missing: Check the tracked Storm King questline; Epic Support says its progression leads players to the storm in their world.
- An old food tip does not match your experience: Epic says hunger no longer slows players and food grants buffs. Consult current item descriptions for effects rather than relying on pre-update survival advice.
Game recipes, quests, and event availability can change. The cited official guides and updates provide the route described here, but the Journal, Village Hub, and live quest list are the practical source of truth for your current world.
