Villagers can open doors in LEGO Fortnite: Epic’s v28.10 update notes explicitly added that ability. If a villager is still stopping at a doorway in your world, treat it as a possible pathing issue rather than proof that villagers cannot use doors.
What Epic says about villagers and doors
Epic’s LEGO Fortnite v28.10 update notes state: “Villagers can now open doors.” The notes establish door opening as a villager capability; they do not promise that every villager will navigate every doorway reliably.
Why reports about doors can seem contradictory
Some players complained in December 2023 that villagers could not pass through doors or became stuck at them. Those reports predate Epic’s v28.10 announcement, so they are not a sound basis for saying villagers categorically cannot open doors now. Later player posts in March and April 2024 described villagers entering homes and sometimes leaving doors open. These are individual anecdotes, not an official diagnosis or evidence of how common the behavior is.
What to check if a villager is stuck
- Observe the specific doorway. Note whether the problem happens at one entrance or across multiple doorways, and whether it affects one villager or more.
- Check the build and try again. Make a simple observation after checking the current in-game build. This is basic troubleshooting, not a confirmed Epic fix.
- Contact Epic if it persists. Use the LEGO Fortnite Support hub and choose the gameplay or technical support category that best fits the issue. LEGO’s LEGO Fortnite help page also directs players to Epic for in-game support.
Is there a confirmed door-specific fix?
The official sources cited here confirm that villagers can open doors, but do not provide a door-specific remedy for a villager that still gets stuck. Community posts from 2023 and 2024 show that players have reported both difficulty passing through doors and doors being left open; they do not establish a current widespread bug or a guaranteed building workaround.
