Some LEGO Fortnite players have reported that villagers will not use certain sleeping-bag-style beds, including First Order and Imperial beds. The reports are anecdotal and inconsistent: they do not establish that all sleeping bags fail, or that Epic has confirmed this exact bug. Check the villager’s bed assignment and access, then try another in-game bed as a diagnostic step—not a guaranteed fix.
What is the bed bug in LEGO Fortnite?
A Reddit report dated October 5, 2025, described villagers failing to use First Order and Imperial sleeping-bag-style beds. Replies described different results with other sleeping bags, so the report does not show that every sleeping-bag bed causes the same problem. It is a community report, not an official diagnosis or a reproducible test across platforms. See the community report.
The issue concerns beds inside the game; it is not a problem with physical furniture. The report also does not establish whether the behavior affects every villager, world, or platform.
What should you check first?
- Check the assignment. Make sure the villager is assigned to the bed you expect them to use.
- Check access. See whether the villager can physically reach that bed in the settlement.
- Try another in-game bed. If practical, assign or test a different bed type and see whether the behavior changes. This is a diagnostic check, not a confirmed workaround; reports describe inconsistent results across bed styles.
Epic’s gameplay guidance explains that players can use a bed to restore missing health, but sleeping does not fast-forward through the night. That player-facing function does not establish how or when a villager should use a bed. Read Epic’s LEGO Fortnite gameplay guidance.

Has Epic acknowledged or fixed this specific issue?
The official notes reviewed do not confirm a fix for villagers failing to use sleeping-bag-style beds. Epic’s v28.10 notes describe removing a villager by removing their bed and then asking them to leave; they also list a fix for villagers’ metal-smelter job assignment, but do not mention sleeping-bag beds. Read the v28.10 update notes.
Epic’s v40.10 and v42.20 notes list other fixes, without identifying this reported bed behavior. That silence does not prove the issue was never fixed in another update or through another release. v40.10 notes · v42.20 notes.
