The LEGO Game Boy (set 72046) is no longer a preorder: LEGO’s US product page listed it as “Available now” for $59.99 when checked on October 8, 2026. The 421-piece set launched on October 1, 2025, as a near 1:1-scale display model—not a playable handheld. The current listing does not establish a new restock or support calling it one of the season’s hottest preorders.
Is the LEGO Game Boy back in stock?
LEGO’s official US product page showed set 72046 as “Available now” at $59.99 on October 8, 2026. That is a snapshot of LEGO’s US listing, not a guarantee of stock at other retailers or that inventory will remain available. Check LEGO’s product page for the latest listing.
The original preorder window is over. LEGO announced that preorders began July 24, 2025, with purchase availability starting October 1, 2025. The current listing does not identify a new restock event. A 2025 GameSpot report discussed preorder availability and an early Amazon shipment at that time; it does not establish a 2026 restock or current retailer stock.
What is LEGO set 72046?
It is a 421-piece, near 1:1-scale brick-built replica of Nintendo’s original Game Boy, designed for display. LEGO lists the set for ages 18+ and gives its dimensions as over 5.5 inches (14 cm) high, 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide, and 1 inch (3 cm) deep. Its US list price was $59.99 in LEGO’s 2025 announcement, and the same price appeared on the US product page on October 8, 2026.

LEGO describes it as a model to build and display on its included stand. It is not an electronic handheld: LEGO says it has no light, sound, or display play functions. Its buttons and dials are tactile details, not controls for a working console.
What comes in the set?
The model includes interchangeable brick-built Game Paks and screen elements themed around The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land, as well as a Nintendo start screen. A buildable stand lets you display the finished model. These are display variations, not functioning games or screens.

What does “one of the hottest preorders” mean now?
That description is not supported as a current fact. The original preorder period took place in 2025, and the available sources do not establish a current sales ranking, a 2026 restock announcement, or broad availability across retailers. “Available now” refers to the status LEGO showed on its US page on October 8, 2026; it should not be read as proof that the set has just returned everywhere.
For a purchase decision, compare the exact set number, 72046, and verify the seller’s live price, stock, shipping, and return terms. LEGO’s listing is a direct reference point; a price-tracker listing or older preorder coverage cannot confirm a retailer’s current offer.
