Red Bricks are less clear: a guide search result reports 16 in total and links them to Apex Machine Hunts, but the exact requirements and locations are not verified.
How to get Gold Bricks
There are two established ways to earn Gold Bricks: finish story quests and complete Community Jobs. These are progression rewards rather than collectibles you need to sweep an open area to find.
Complete story quests
GamesRadar’s guide says each story quest rewards a Gold Brick. Quests include climbing a Tallneck in the area, and interacting with the Gold Brick is required to finish the quest. That makes these rewards unmissable as you progress through the story. The pre- and post-quest screens show your progress. GamesRadar’s Gold Brick guide explains the route.
Complete Community Jobs
Community Jobs unlock after the fourth story quest, “Face To The Sun.” In the village, visit the Community Board in the middle of the area to see available jobs, their requirements, your progress, and their Gold Brick rewards. The first job involves eating at the Feasting Table; additional jobs appear over time. GamesRadar describes the board and unlock point in its Gold Brick guide.

PowerPyx also identifies story missions and Community Jobs as Gold Brick sources. Its 2024 trophy guide says 50 Gold Bricks are required for the “Yellow Brick Hoard” trophy and describes more than 20 short Community Job challenges. PowerPyx’s trophy guide covers that trophy requirement.
Story quests vs. Community Jobs
| Route | When available | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Story quests | As you progress through the story | Each quest awards a Gold Brick; collect it during the quest to complete the mission. (GamesRadar) |
| Community Jobs | After “Face To The Sun,” the fourth story quest | Choose tasks from the village Community Board and track requirements, progress, and rewards there. (GamesRadar) |
What Gold Bricks unlock
Gold Bricks unlock village upgrades and additional customization plots. Check the Community Board after finishing “Face To The Sun”; if a job’s requirements suit an expedition you are already planning, you can work toward it alongside story progress. That is a practical way to avoid overlooking optional tasks, not a guaranteed faster method.

How to get Red Bricks
The available information does not establish exact Red Brick locations, requirements, or difficulty settings. A search result for Kill The Game’s guide, “How to Earn All 100 Gold Bricks and 16 Red Bricks,” reports 16 Red Bricks and connects brick progress with story missions, Community Jobs, and Apex Machine Hunts. The guide page returned a 403 error when opened, so its detailed steps could not be checked. The Kill The Game guide listing is the basis for the reported total, not a verified step-by-step route.
PowerPyx describes Apex Machine Hunting Grounds as a post-story activity, but that does not independently confirm that the Hunts award Red Bricks. PowerPyx’s trophy guide establishes the activity’s post-story status, not its Red Brick rewards. Treat the Hunts as a possible lead rather than a confirmed collection method, and check the reward screen in-game before committing to a specific requirement or location.
