LEGO Jurassic World received a mixed-to-average critical reception: Metacritic’s all-platform page showed a 70/100 Metascore from 46 critic reviews when accessed October 8, 2026. Critics often welcomed its affectionate film adaptation and familiar LEGO humor, while some found its gameplay too familiar, its exploration constrained, or its tone short on the films’ suspense. That overall score is an aggregator snapshot, not a score shared by every platform.
What is LEGO Jurassic World’s critic score?

Metacritic’s PS4 critic-review page is the relevant reference when discussing that platform.
What did critics like?
Favorable reviews tended to value the game as a cheerful, recognizable adaptation of the films, with the humor and established format of TT Games’ LEGO series. TheSixthAxis, in an 80-scored PS4 review dated June 16, 2015, praised its balance between nostalgia for the earlier films and the then-new Jurassic World story. CGMagazine’s June 29, 2015 PS4 review, scored 85, described it as a fun romp that met expectations for both the films and the LEGO games.

The premise gives that nostalgia room to work: TT Games says players can relive all four Jurassic films, revisit memorable scenes and action sequences, and explore Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. These are the developer’s descriptions of the game’s scope, not claims that every scene is reproduced in equal detail. TT Games’ official LEGO Jurassic World page lists those features.
What were the main criticisms?
Familiar gameplay and limited exploration
Some critics found the game less inventive or less open than other LEGO entries. Digital Chumps’ PS4 review, published June 18, 2015 and scored 80, noted a more constrained design, with less open-world exploration and more linear gameplay; it regarded story, presentation, and brisk play as compensating strengths.

- Play with family and friends with easy access drop-in, drop-out gameplay option. (Available on console only.)
Less suspense than the films
GameSpot gave the PS4 version 6/10 (“Fair”) in a review published July 13, 2015. Its summary praised the game as a joyful, brightly colored tribute to Jurassic Park, but argued that it did not capture the franchise’s trademark tension and excitement. That criticism points to a difference in tone: a lighthearted LEGO adaptation may evoke the films without recreating their suspense.
How to interpret the reviews
The selected review excerpts suggest a recurring trade-off: affectionate adaptation and approachable LEGO comedy on one side, familiar mechanics and a less tense, sometimes more linear experience on the other. They are examples rather than a systematic analysis of every critic review, so they illustrate the debate without proving how often each view appeared across all publications.

- For film nostalgia: reviewers who enjoyed the recognizable story material and humorous LEGO treatment were among the more enthusiastic.
- For gameplay novelty or open exploration: the more constrained and familiar design may be a drawback.
- For the films’ suspense: GameSpot’s review makes clear that the game’s comic tone does not satisfy every reader looking for cinematic tension.
What game is being reviewed?
Metacritic identifies LEGO Jurassic World as an action-adventure game developed by TT Games. The two sources give different release dates: Metacritic lists June 9, 2015, while TT Games’ official page lists June 12, 2015. Those dates should be attributed to their respective sources rather than treated as one settled date.
Platform coverage is broad, but the existence of a score or review record for one version does not establish an identical critic score for another. TT Games lists Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U on its official page; Metacritic’s platform listings also include systems such as Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS. Check the platform-specific critic page when a platform score matters, and distinguish critic reviews from user ratings.
