Controller and buttons
The controller connects to the console, while the model’s Open and Power buttons are tactile and functional as moving features. They are part of the display model’s interaction: pressing them does not turn on a game system or make the set playable.

Hidden game scenes
Opening the model reveals buildable dioramas inspired by Gran Turismo, first released in 1997, and Ape Escape, released in 1999. The scenes can be tucked inside the console or displayed alongside it, letting the build shift between a closed-console look and a more playful presentation.
How faithful is the nostalgia?
The design leans on recognizable hardware rituals as much as the console’s silhouette: plugging in the controller, pressing the buttons and opening the system to uncover the scenes. The LEGO Group described those touches as an effort to capture the “ritual and excitement of ‘90s gaming”; that is the manufacturer’s design intent, rather than an independent assessment.
