If you want a LEGO model of the original PlayStation, choose the LEGO PlayStation 72306: it pairs the console and its original controller with working Open and Power buttons and small scenes inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. For a smaller, lower-priced handheld replica, consider the Game Boy 72046. Atari and NES fans have dedicated display builds too, but LEGO marks both as retired, so their old page prices are not reliable guides to what you will pay today.

Why choose the LEGO PlayStation 72306?
The PlayStation set is the most direct fit if the original Sony console is the point of the purchase. LEGO describes it as a near 1:1-scale-style replica, with the original controller plugging into the console. Its Open and Power buttons work, and the build includes separate or concealable scenes referencing two PlayStation-era games: miniature cars for Gran Turismo and a red or blue monkey helmet from Ape Escape. These are display details, not playable game features.
The adult-oriented set is labeled for ages 18+ and contains 1,911 pieces. LEGO gives its dimensions as over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep (over 2.5 × 10.5 × 7.5 inches), so allow space for a broad console-shaped display. LEGO announced a US retail price of $179.99 and general availability on October 4, 2026; the announcement also listed £139.99 and €159.99 for the UK and euro area, respectively. Those are announced regional prices, not a promise of local tax treatment or retailer pricing. LEGO’s announcement
Availability is time-sensitive: LEGO’s US gaming category still showed the set as “Coming Soon” in the page snapshot used here, despite the announced general-release date. Check the current product listing before making plans to buy; the announcement alone does not establish present stock.

When the Game Boy is the better fit
Choose the Game Boy 72046 if you would rather display a handheld than a home console, or if you want a notably smaller and less expensive build based on LEGO’s listed figures. It has 421 pieces and a display stand. Its handheld details include controls, volume and contrast features, a Game Pak slot, interchangeable Game Paks, and lenticular screens. LEGO’s US gaming category listed it at $59.99 when checked; confirm the live listing for current price and availability. LEGO gaming category
When to consider the Atari 2600 or NES
Atari 2600 10306: joystick, cartridges, and vignettes
The Atari 2600 is a strong subject match for Atari fans who want more than a console-shaped object: the 2,532-piece set includes a joystick, three game cartridges, game-inspired miniature scenes, and a hidden 1980s room build. LEGO labels it retired. Its US product page displayed $239.99 when checked, but that figure does not establish a current purchase price or availability; compare the seller, condition, and actual offer if shopping elsewhere. - Light Accessories Only: BrickSoul LED light kit is designed for the LEGO PlayStation 72306 building set; lighting and touch-control components only are included, and the brick model is sold separately
- Layered Retro Gaming Lighting: Color-changing illumination adds depth to the gray console and original-style controller while drawing attention to the disc lid, front controls and hidden diorama areas. The shifting accent color turns the near 1:1 display into a stronger game-room centerpiece without losing the clean retro-console look.
- Touch Color-Changing Control: Use the touch area for power and color changes, then double-tap to cycle through multiple lighting effects. Press and hold to fine-tune pattern speed and brightness, from a steady retro-console glow to a more dynamic game-room scene.
- Easy Installation with Online Guides: Numbered light packs, slim wiring, and online video and PDF instructions help keep installation clear and cable placement neat around the console and controller; power with the included battery box, a compatible power bank, or a 5V USB adapter; batteries not included
- 1-Year Replacement Support: Made for retro gaming fans, collectors, and display builders who want to upgrade their 72306 console display; contact us through Amazon messages for installation help or product support
NES 71374: console plus mechanical TV display
The 2,646-piece NES set combines a console, controller, Game Pak, and retro television. Turning a handle moves the TV’s scrolling screen, making the display interactive mechanically; it is not a playable NES. LEGO labels the set retired, and its US page displayed $269.99 when checked. Treat that as a page-displayed figure, not a reliable current-market price. LEGO NES product page
How to make the choice
- Start with the console or game series you care about. PlayStation, Game Boy, Atari, and NES are different nostalgia choices; piece count cannot decide which one will mean more to you.
- Match the display form to your space. The PlayStation is a broad console replica, the Game Boy is a handheld display, and the Atari and NES builds add their own accessories and scenes.
- Consider the details you want to look at. Pick the PlayStation for its controller, buttons, and game references; the Game Boy for interchangeable handheld details; the Atari for cartridges and vignettes; or the NES for its moving TV-screen mechanism.
- Check whether the set is actually available. The Atari and NES are marked retired by LEGO. For any set, verify the live listing; for retired sets in particular, compare the seller, condition, and asking price.
- Compare the price where you will buy. LEGO’s listed or announced figures are not a substitute for checking current local stock and offers. Piece count is a specification, not a measure of quality, difficulty, or value.
What the price and feature figures do—and do not—tell you
The PlayStation price is an announced US retail price, while its launch date is an announced general-release date. The Game Boy figure came from LEGO’s US gaming-category listing; the Atari and NES figures appeared on official US pages for products LEGO labels retired. These page figures do not establish current retailer inventory, resale value, discounts, or condition. The feature descriptions are LEGO’s product claims; they are not comparative hands-on assessments, so they do not establish which set is the most enjoyable or challenging to build.
