One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchUpdated August 16, 2026: The Lenovo Legion Go 2—listed on Lenovo’s current U.S. site as the Legion Go Gen 2—launched on October 31, 2025. Its original preorder period is over. Buyers should now check live inventory, seller identity, shipping estimates, and the exact Windows or SteamOS configuration before ordering.
The reported U.S. preorder window began September 5, 2025. A retailer page that still says “preorder” or shows the old October 31 release date does not, by itself, prove that Lenovo has opened a new allocation.
Are Lenovo Legion Go 2 preorders open right now?
Not as a confirmed new preorder event. The original preorder period reportedly opened on September 5, 2025, ahead of the announced U.S. release date of October 31, 2025. That launch has passed, so listings in August 2026 should be treated as ordinary retail, backorder, marketplace, or residual preorder pages unless the retailer provides current fulfillment information.
Before paying, look for all of the following:
- A live Add to cart or order button rather than a waitlist.
- A current estimated delivery date.
- The name of the actual seller and whether it is the retailer itself or a marketplace vendor.
- Clear cancellation, return, and price-protection terms.
- A payment authorization policy that explains when your card will be charged.
Lenovo also warns that shipping estimates depend on production time and product availability, so an estimate is not the same as a guaranteed delivery date. See the historical preorder and launch details in Best Buy’s product Q&A.

Legion Go 2 pricing: launch figures versus current listings
Reported U.S. launch-period retailer pricing was approximately:
| Configuration | Launch-period price | Availability context |
|---|---|---|
| Ryzen Z2, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD | $1,099.99 | Early retailer listing |

These are date-stamped launch references, not guaranteed current MSRPs. Lenovo’s indexed U.S. listing showed the Legion Go Gen 2 starting at $1,099.99, but the final cart price, configuration, tax, shipping, and stock status must be checked at checkout: Lenovo’s Legion Go Gen 2 listing.

Base U.S. Windows SKU
Lenovo’s indexed U.S. SKU 83N10009US lists:
- AMD Ryzen Z2 processor.
- 16GB soldered LPDDR5X-7500 memory.
- 1TB PCIe Gen4 TLC SSD.
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit.
- 8.8-inch OLED display.
- Eclipse Black finish.
- One year of Legion Ultimate Support.
The soldered memory is important: buyers should not assume that the 16GB model can later be upgraded to 32GB. Storage can be expanded with a microSD card, but a card will not perform like the internal PCIe SSD.
Where can you buy the Legion Go 2?
Lenovo
Lenovo is the clearest source for official specifications, first-party warranty information, and the configurations it chooses to sell in a particular region. Its U.S. pages may show a starting price, unavailable status, or an estimated shipping window. Confirm that the product can actually be ordered and that the displayed configuration matches the one you want.
Regional pages are not interchangeable. Processor, RAM, storage, operating system, charger standards, and warranty coverage can vary between the U.S., Europe, and other markets.
Best Buy
Best Buy historically listed multiple Legion Go 2 configurations and recorded the September 5, 2025 preorder date. A current-looking product page may nevertheless be an old launch page, a backorder, open-box inventory, or marketplace stock. Check whether the item is sold and shipped by Best Buy, whether pickup is available, and whether the delivery date is current.

B&H and marketplace listings
B&H was reported as listing a 2TB model for $2,349.99 in June 2026. A price at that level should be treated as an exceptional, potentially inflated listing rather than a benchmark. Marketplace sellers require additional checks for warranty eligibility, returns, condition, and whether the product is new, used, or imported.
Windows versus SteamOS
The SteamOS edition is not simply the Windows model with a different preinstalled operating system. Lenovo announced a SteamOS-powered Legion Go model with an estimated starting price of $1,199 and expected availability from June 2026. “Estimated” and “expected” do not establish universal stock in every region.
The operating system changes the buying decision:
- Windows: Better suited to PC Game Pass, Epic Games, other launchers, mods, desktop applications, and broad Windows compatibility.
- SteamOS: Designed around the Steam ecosystem and a more console-like interface and control experience.
Lenovo states that Legion Space is available only on Windows models. Windows-specific features also include fingerprint-reader functionality and Nahimic audio support, which are not available in the same way on SteamOS models. Do not compare the two versions solely by RAM, storage, or price.

Should you buy now?
Buy now if you specifically want the large 8.8-inch OLED screen, detachable controllers, FPS mode, and Windows flexibility—and you find a listing near the historical launch range with a clear delivery date and straightforward returns.
Wait or avoid the listing if the price is dramatically above launch pricing, the seller is unknown, fulfillment is uncertain, or the model has 16GB of soldered RAM when you expect to keep the handheld for years. Buyers who mainly play Steam games may prefer the simpler SteamOS experience, while buyers who need Game Pass, multiple launchers, mods, or desktop software should pay close attention to the Windows model.
The main trade-off is size and price. The large OLED display and 74Wh battery are major selling points, but they do not make every inflated listing good value. A discounted original Legion Go, a competing handheld, or a different SteamOS device may be more sensible when the Gen 2 is unavailable or priced far above its launch range.
Legion Go 2 purchase checklist
- Confirm whether the listing is for Legion Go 2 or Lenovo’s current name, Legion Go Gen 2.
- Verify the exact model number and region.
- Check the operating system: Windows 11 or SteamOS.
- Confirm the Ryzen processor, RAM, and SSD capacity.
- Remember that the base 16GB memory is soldered.
- Identify the seller and check whether the item is new, open-box, used, or marketplace stock.
- Look for a current shipping estimate rather than an old release date.
- Review payment, cancellation, return, and warranty terms.
- Compare the final price—not just the headline price—with the historical launch range.
- Confirm that warranty coverage applies in your country.
Stock trackers can help show that inventory appeared at a particular time, but they are not proof of current stock or an authorized sale. The retailer’s live product page and checkout are the final checks.
