Which fix applies to you
- The error names LG Mobile Support Tool or an LG firmware updater: repair or reinstall that exact program first.
- The error appears when starting LG PC Suite III: repair or reinstall PC Suite III.
- The file disappeared after antivirus activity: check Windows Security Protection history before reinstalling anything.
- The file exists but Windows reports that a module is missing: reinstall the complete LG package because a dependency may be missing.
- The problem began after connecting a phone or changing USB drivers: reinstall the LG USB driver, then reinstall or repair the LG application.
- You no longer use the LG software: remove its startup entry or uninstall the obsolete program instead of rebuilding it.
- You suspect Windows itself is damaged: run DISM and SFC after repairing the LG application.
What lgmobiledl.dll is
lgmobiledl.dll is an application library associated with older LG Electronics phone software. It is not a Windows component and is not the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime.

The exact parent program is not proven by the filename alone. The most likely parents are LG Mobile Support Tool and LG PC Suite III. Older LG firmware-update and phone-connection workflows may also use the same download library.

This is commonly treated as a 32-bit component. A 64-bit Windows installation can therefore legitimately use a 32-bit LG executable and a 32-bit lgmobiledl.dll. Do not replace it with a file chosen because its name looks similar or because it came from a 64-bit system folder.
Fix 1: Identify and repair the LG program
First identify which executable is requesting the file.
- Reproduce the error and note the application name in the dialog.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Details. If the tab is hidden, click More details first.
- Look for an LG process, firmware updater, phone support process, or an executable launched from an LG folder.
- Right-click a likely process and choose Open file location.
- Inspect the folder name and shortcut properties to identify whether it belongs to LG Mobile Support Tool, PC Suite III, or another LG package.
If the application is listed in Windows, attempt repair before uninstalling it.

Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for LG, LG PC Suite, LG Mobile Support Tool, or the name shown in the error.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the program.
- Choose Advanced options, if available.
- Select Repair and allow Windows to complete the operation.
- Restart Windows and launch the LG program again.
Windows 10
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Apps & features.
- Select the LG program.
- Choose Advanced options or Modify, depending on what the installer provides.
- Select Repair if available.
- Restart Windows and test the application.
A successful repair usually restores the DLL to the LG program’s own folder and allows the application to start. If no Repair option exists, or the error remains, use the uninstall-and-reinstall procedure below.
Fix 2: Reinstall the exact LG application
Do not mix files from LG PC Suite, LG Bridge, Mobile Support Tool, and firmware packages. They are separate products and may use different supporting files.
- Disconnect the LG phone from USB.
- Close the LG application and any updater.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps on Windows 11, or Settings > Apps > Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Uninstall the LG program named in the error.
- If the program is not listed there, open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program and remove it from the older Programs and Features list.
- Restart Windows.
- Obtain the installer from LG’s official Software & Drivers support area, selecting the phone model and region where required. If the legacy download is unavailable, use the original installer or a legitimate backup from the same computer.
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.
- Complete the installation before reconnecting the phone.
- Restart Windows once more, then launch the LG application.
- Connect the phone only after the program opens normally.
LG’s current support catalog lists LG PC Suite, LG Bridge, LG mobile drivers, and Mobile Support Tool as separate downloads. Availability for older products can vary by model and region, so do not assume that every historical Mobile Support Tool build is still offered.
If reinstalling restores the program but Windows still reports a load error, the problem may be a missing dependency rather than the named DLL itself.

Fix 3: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software may quarantine an application DLL after an update or after the program has been inactive for a long time. Do not restore the file merely because its name matches.
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Review recent entries for
lgmobiledl.dll, the LG application, or its installer. - Open an entry and inspect the original file path.
- Restore or allow the file only if the path belongs to the legitimate LG installation and the installer came from LG or your original installation media.
- If the detection concerns the installer, run a full Microsoft Defender scan before allowing anything.
- Reinstall the LG application after confirming the installer is trusted.
Microsoft’s Protection History guidance explains the available actions. If the quarantined copy came from a temporary folder, an unrelated program, or a random download, leave it quarantined and obtain a clean LG installer instead.
Fix 4: Repair the LG USB driver and phone connection
A driver problem does not normally recreate lgmobiledl.dll, but it can prevent the LG program from completing its update or phone-connection workflow.
- Disconnect the phone.
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Portable Devices, Universal Serial Bus controllers, and Other devices.
- Look for an LG device, an unknown device, or a device with a yellow warning icon.
- Right-click the relevant entry and select Uninstall device.
- If offered, select the option to remove the driver package, then confirm.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the matching LG mobile driver from LG’s official support area.
- Right-click the driver installer and choose Run as administrator.
- Finish the installation before reconnecting the phone.
- Open Device Manager again and confirm that the device appears without a warning icon.
If the device remains unidentified, try a different USB cable or port and avoid USB hubs while testing. Reinstall the LG application after the driver installation if its updater was already damaged.

Fix 5: Install Visual C++ only when the evidence points there
lgmobiledl.dll is not itself a Visual C++ redistributable. Installing Visual C++ at random will not replace it.
Consider a runtime installation only if:
- the LG installer names a missing Microsoft runtime;
- Event Viewer identifies a Visual C++ runtime dependency;
- reinstalling the LG application fails with a runtime-specific message.
Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ Redistributable downloads. An older 32-bit LG application generally needs the x86 package, even on 64-bit Windows. Multiple Visual C++ releases may need to remain installed because newer releases do not necessarily replace every older dependency.
After installing the appropriate runtime, restart Windows and test the LG program. If the same lgmobiledl.dll message remains, return to repairing or reinstalling the LG application rather than adding more runtimes.

Fix 6: Check for a missing dependency
The message “The specified module could not be found” can mean that a dependency required by lgmobiledl.dll is missing. It does not always mean that the named file itself is absent.
- Confirm whether
LGMobileDL.dllexists in the LG program folder. - Right-click it, select Properties, and inspect its location and digital-signature information if present.
- Open Event Viewer by searching from Start.
- Select Windows Logs > Application.
- Look for an error recorded at the time the LG program failed.
- Note any named runtime, driver, or supporting module.
- Repair or reinstall the complete LG package instead of downloading individual dependencies.
Do not copy unrelated DLLs into the LG folder or Windows directories. A replacement may have the wrong architecture, an incompatible build, or unsafe contents.
Fix 7: Repair Windows components
Because lgmobiledl.dll is a third-party application file, Windows System File Checker will not normally recreate it. Use these commands only after repairing the LG installation or when other Windows applications also show component errors.
- Open Start and search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows when both commands complete.
- Test the LG application again.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. If either command reports that it could not complete, install pending Windows updates, restart, and repeat the process. These commands repair protected Windows components, not a missing LG application library.

Do not copy the DLL into System32
Do not begin with a random DLL download or by copying lgmobiledl.dll into:
C:WindowsSystem32
or:
C:WindowsSysWOW64
Those are system directories, and this is normally an application-private LG library. A copied file can have the wrong version or architecture, create conflicts, and still leave the actual LG installation incomplete. Random DLL download sites also create malware and tampering risks.
The safe sources are the official LG Software & Drivers support area, the original LG installer, or a legitimate backup from the same LG product. If the old software is no longer available and you no longer use it, uninstalling the obsolete application and removing its stale startup entry may be safer than rebuilding it.

Should you run regsvr32?
Usually, no.
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. There is no reliable evidence that this LG download library is a self-registering COM or ActiveX component.
Running:
regsvr32 lgmobiledl.dll
will not restore a deleted file, repair its dependencies, or rebuild the LG installation. It may instead report that the entry point is missing. Use Microsoft’s regsvr32 documentation only when the application’s official documentation specifically requires registration.

The strongest matches are LG Mobile Support Tool and LG PC Suite III. Check the error dialog, shortcut, executable path, or installed-program list to identify the exact parent.
Why does a 32-bit DLL appear on 64-bit Windows?
Older LG applications can be 32-bit and therefore require 32-bit libraries. Windows system architecture does not determine every application’s architecture.
Can I restore it from antivirus quarantine?
Only after confirming the original LG path and the installer’s source. A matching filename alone is not proof that the file is safe.
What if the file is present but the error continues?
A dependency may be missing, the file may be corrupt, or the shortcut may point to a damaged installation. Repair or reinstall the complete LG application and inspect Event Viewer for additional module names.
