The 720Hz figure applies only at the lower HD resolution—not QHD. LG lists the monitor as model 27GX790B-B on its U.S. product page; its January 2026 announcement called it 27GX790B.
What the 540Hz and 720Hz modes mean
The headline number depends on the resolution you choose. LG’s U.S. product page lists QHD at 540Hz and HD at 720Hz, so this is a dual-mode monitor rather than a QHD display that reaches 720Hz. LG Display calls the switching technology Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR), which lets users change between resolution and refresh-rate modes.

LG does not specify a particular HD pixel resolution on the cited U.S. product page, so the table retains the manufacturer’s wording.

Panel technology and brightness claims
LG Display describes the panel as Tandem WOLED and associates its published panel figures with the 27-inch 540Hz model. The technology page lists DCI-P3 99.5% and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits at APL 1.5%. That brightness figure is tied to a small average-picture-level measurement condition; it should not be read as sustained or full-screen brightness.
LG Electronics has described the monitor as a fourth-generation OLED display. Claims about image quality, motion clarity, competitive advantage, or being the fastest or brightest should be treated as company claims: no independent comparison or hands-on test is established here.
