What is Lies of P: Overture?
Overture is a story expansion set in Krat before the Puppet Frenzy and the city’s collapse. NEOWIZ describes it as a journey through the path of Lea, the Legendary Stalker, with players controlling Geppetto’s Puppet. Glenn Stotz, Neowiz Senior Brand Manager, described the expansion as “a prequel DLC expansion to Lies of P, transporting our puppet hero to the city of Krat as tragedy looms.” The quotation appeared in the June 6, 2025 PlayStation Blog launch announcement.
Do you need Lies of P to play Overture?
Yes, unless the version you buy specifically bundles the base game with the expansion. Overture is listed as DLC for Lies of P on Steam. The PlayStation launch announcement also identifies it as DLC and describes a bundle with both the original game and the expansion.

For the Switch 2 Complete Edition, Nintendo UK’s listing says the release date is August 5, 2026. If you are buying on another platform or from another country’s store, check that store’s current product page rather than assuming the UK edition’s availability or format applies.

Steam’s official catalog also lists a soundtrack with music from both Lies of P and Overture. That establishes a digital soundtrack listing, not a physical soundtrack release. NEOWIZ’s news index lists update notes version 1.13.1.0 dated May 8, 2026, but that entry alone does not specify an update requirement for playing the expansion: NEOWIZ news.
