Lies of P has two kinds of weapons: normal weapons, whose blades and handles can be recombined, and special weapons, obtained by trading boss Ergo and kept as fixed units. To choose well, compare the complete weapon’s moveset, scaling, damage and blocking properties, and Fable Arts—not just its name or appearance. The Overture expansion adds armaments and combinations, so base-game lists should not be mistaken for a current inventory of every weapon.
How weapons work in Lies of P
Normal weapons: interchangeable blades and handles
Normal weapons can be disassembled and recombined. The blade and handle are not cosmetic parts: each contributes different combat properties, and the assembled result is the weapon you should evaluate. Special weapons: fixed boss-Ergo exchanges
Special weapons are acquired by exchanging boss Ergo and cannot be disassembled. They are therefore not part of the normal blade-and-handle assembly system. The community-maintained Lies of P Wiki weapons page lists examples of both categories.
When weapon assembly unlocks
Defeating Mad Donkey in Region II yields the Enigma Assembly Tool, according to PC Gamer. Once you have it, you can recombine eligible normal weapon blades and handles. The same guide says Eugénie upgrades ordinary weapons using moonstone materials.

What the blade and handle change

Handles can be tuned with cranks to emphasize Motivity, Technique, or Advance scaling. That changes the scaling emphasis; it does not guarantee that every blade-and-handle pairing will be equally effective. Check the assembled weapon’s displayed stats and try its moveset rather than assuming a heavy-looking blade or familiar handle will be the best match.
How to compare weapons for your build
There is no established universal best weapon independent of build and progression. Decide what matters to your character, then assess the complete weapon against those priorities:

- Moveset and tempo: Choose a handle whose speed, reach, and attack patterns feel right for how you play.
- Scaling: Match the handle’s scaling to the attributes you have invested in; consider a crank if you want to shift its emphasis toward Motivity, Technique, or Advance.
- Damage and damage type: Compare the blade’s contribution and the damage style you need for your intended matchup.
- Blocking: If you block often, pay attention to the blade’s damage reduction while blocking.
- Fable Arts: A normal assembled weapon has an art on its blade and another on its handle. Consider the pair, not just one skill.
- Acquisition: Check whether the weapon is a normal weapon, a boss-Ergo exchange, or expansion content before planning around it.
PC Gamer recommends the Greatsword of Fate as an early-game option for players who prioritize blocking. That is the guide author’s recommendation for that play preference, not an official or universal ranking.
Base-game weapon examples
The community wiki names these examples of normal weapons: Puppet’s Saber, Wintry Rapier, Greatsword of Fate, Booster Glaive, Acidic Crystal Spear, and Salamander Dagger. It also lists special weapons including Etiquette, Holy Sword of the Ark, Trident of the Covenant, Puppet Ripper, Two Dragons Sword, and Golden Lie. These are examples, not a verified exhaustive inventory, and the wiki is community-edited.

For navigation, PowerPyx’s Lies of P guide hub separates normal-weapon and special-weapon guides and includes an Overture section. A hub page alone does not establish that every entry in the game is covered.
What Overture changes
NEOWIZ describes Lies of P: Overture as a prequel expansion that adds armaments, weapon combinations, and Legion Arms. See the official Overture page for its expansion overview. The official material cited here confirms that the armament pool expands, but does not provide a complete names-and-locations inventory. A base-game list should therefore be labelled as such rather than presented as every weapon available with Overture.

How many weapon combinations are there?
In a Steam announcement dated September 6, 2023, NEOWIZ wrote: “More weapons are still left uncovered in Krat. Discover hundreds of possible combinations and find the perfect weapon for you with the ‘Weapon Assemble’ system on September 19.” This is launch-era promotional wording: “hundreds” is approximate, not a precise current count of weapons or combinations. The community wiki separately describes “over 100 possible combinations”; that is a wiki-attributed figure, not a developer-verified count. Neither statement establishes a current exhaustive total that includes Overture.
Game and edition context
PowerPyx identifies Lies of P as a NEOWIZ/Round8 game for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows PC. PlayStation’s US product page lists the Standard Edition and a Lies of P: Overture Bundle; see PlayStation’s Lies of P page. Those listings establish named product options, not current availability or pricing in every region.
