lighting.dll Is Missing: Repair the Old Ulead App Safely

Start with this quick checklist

Before replacing anything, answer these questions:

• Which program shows the error? The file is associated with Ulead GIF Animator 1.5, but the DLL name alone cannot prove which application triggered your message.

  Windows could not locate the DLL during program startup.

• “Failed to load lighting.dll.”
  The file may be absent, damaged, incompatible, or blocked by a dependency failure.

  This can mean lighting.dll itself is missing. It can also mean the DLL is present but another library that it requires is missing.

• “lighting.dll is not designed to run on Windows” or “Bad Image.”

The full error should also name an executable or application. Write that name down. If it identifies something other than Ulead GIF Animator, repair that named application rather than assuming the Ulead association applies.

Fix 1: Repair or reinstall the parent application

This is the fastest and most likely fix when Ulead GIF Animator is the program that will not start.

Check the application folder first

1. Press Windows key + S.

Fix 7: Update drivers only when the evidence points there
