The Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii demo was reported available on February 13, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It offered a preview of Honolulu exploration, Goro Majima’s two fighting styles, and ship and deck battles in Madlantis. That date is the demo’s reported launch, not confirmation that it can still be downloaded today.
Where was the demo available?
At launch, the demo was reported for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The February 13, 2025 report did not list PS4 or Xbox One, so the full game’s broader platform list should not be taken as evidence that the demo launched on those consoles. SEGAbits reported the demo availability and platforms on February 13, 2025.
The report described the demo as free and available to play at the time. It is historical launch information: it does not establish whether a demo listing remains accessible in every region or on each storefront now. The Steam listing is for the full game and includes a demo entry, but storefront content and availability can vary by region.
What can you do in the demo?
The preview covered both exploration and combat, rather than only a land-based slice of the game.

How does the demo fit the full game?
SEGA announced Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on September 20, 2024, as an action-adventure starring Goro Majima and set after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In SEGA’s premise, Majima washes ashore without his memories and joins Noah in a search connected to his past and a legendary treasure. The announcement described Mad Dog as a speed-focused style and Sea Dog as a style using a cutlass and other pirate gear. The game’s locations include Rich Island, Madlantis, Nele Island, and Honolulu.
SEGA’s announcement initially gave February 28, 2025, as the release date and listed PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam. That was the date and platform list in the announcement, not a statement of current release status. SEGA’s announcement also introduced the game’s premise, combat styles, platforms, and editions.

SEGA said physical versions of the full game were available for PS5 and PS4; its announcement did not list physical versions for Xbox, Windows, or Steam. It also announced a Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Complete Box, containing the base game, a Goro Majima Pop-Up Pirate Jr., a themed eyepatch, an acrylic stand, and a Deluxe Upgrade code. The announcement does not establish present-day stock, so the box is best understood as a collector edition that was announced, not a guarantee of current availability.
