DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction works on GeForce RTX 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-series GPUs in compatible games. DLSS Frame Generation is a separate feature supported on RTX 40-series and newer, while RTX 50-series cards add newer Multi Frame Generation features. Compatibility does not guarantee that an individual GPU can run demanding path tracing smoothly.
Last reviewed: August 18, 2026. Game support can change after patches. Native integrations and NVIDIA App model overrides are different and are identified separately below.
What DLSS 3.5 includes
DLSS is a collection of technologies rather than one indivisible setting. NVIDIA describes DLSS 3.5’s headline addition, Ray Reconstruction, as an AI model that replaces multiple hand-tuned ray-tracing denoisers. See NVIDIA’s announcement at NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction.
DLSS Super Resolution
Super Resolution renders internally at a lower resolution and uses AI reconstruction to produce a higher-resolution image. It is primarily a performance feature and is available on supported games across RTX generations.

DLAA
Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing applies AI anti-aliasing at or near native resolution. It generally prioritizes image quality over frame-rate improvement.
Ray Reconstruction
Ray Reconstruction improves the reconstruction and denoising of ray-traced or path-traced effects. It matters most when ray tracing is active; a rasterized scene may gain little or no benefit. Games may expose it as a separate option or enable it automatically in particular ray-tracing modes.
Frame Generation
Frame Generation creates additional frames from rendered frames and is documented by NVIDIA for GeForce RTX 40- and 50-series GPUs. Generated frames can increase displayed frame rate, but they do not reduce input latency in the same proportion as traditionally rendered frames.
Multi Frame Generation
Multi Frame Generation is a newer feature associated with RTX 50-series hardware and later DLSS versions. It is not required for DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction.
DLSS 3.5 GPU compatibility

| GeForce RTX 30 series | Yes, in supported games | Yes, where supported | Yes | No | Same feature class as RTX 20 for DLSS 3.5; performance headroom varies by model. |
| GeForce RTX 40 series | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Adds DLSS Frame Generation. |
| GeForce RTX 50 series | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Adds Frame Generation and newer Multi Frame Generation features. |
NVIDIA’s current DLSS documentation lists Ray Reconstruction for all GeForce RTX GPUs and Frame Generation for RTX 40- and 50-series products: NVIDIA DLSS technology overview. “Supported” is a technical compatibility statement, not a promise of equal performance. An RTX 2060, RTX 3090, RTX 4090, and RTX 5090 will not deliver the same path-tracing experience.

Laptop GPUs
RTX laptop GPUs generally follow the feature rules of their desktop generation. Actual performance depends on the laptop’s GPU power limit, cooling, CPU, memory configuration, firmware, and display routing. NVIDIA lists current laptop products at GeForce RTX laptops.
DLSS 3.5-supported games
The following titles have documented NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 or Ray Reconstruction integrations. The list is not a permanent compatibility guarantee: patches can change menus and implementations, and NVIDIA’s live database combines several DLSS generations rather than maintaining a DLSS 3.5-only archive.
| Game or project | Native DLSS 3.5 / Ray Reconstruction status | Frame Generation | Native support or override | Last verified |

How to enable DLSS 3.5 features
- Install the latest compatible NVIDIA Game Ready or Studio Driver.
- Update the game through its launcher or storefront.
- Open Settings, Graphics, or Video.
- Enable Ray Tracing or Path Tracing if Ray Reconstruction is conditional on ray-traced rendering.
- Enable DLSS Super Resolution and choose a quality mode.
- Enable Ray Reconstruction if the game exposes a separate control.
- On RTX 40- or 50-series GPUs, enable Frame Generation separately when available.
- Restart the game if it requests a restart.
NVIDIA recommends Quality mode as a starting point at 1080p and 1440p, Performance at 4K, and Ultra Performance at 8K. Treat those as starting points: image quality, base frame rate, VRAM, and the game’s implementation should determine the final setting.

DLSS 3.5, DLSS 4 and DLSS 4.5
Later DLSS versions can introduce newer models or generation features without changing a game’s original integration label. An NVIDIA App upgrade may replace or upgrade the DLSS model used by a supported title, but that does not prove the developer shipped native DLSS 3.5 support.
The NVIDIA App documents selective overrides for Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, DLAA, and Frame Generation. Use it for drivers and supported model upgrades at NVIDIA App. NVIDIA’s live games-and-applications list, updated July 28, 2026, spans multiple DLSS generations: RTX games, engines and applications.

If you already own an RTX 20- or 30-series card
Do not upgrade solely to obtain Ray Reconstruction: those generations support it in compatible games. An upgrade becomes more compelling when you specifically need Frame Generation, substantially higher ray-tracing performance, more VRAM, or a higher target resolution. Demanding path tracing can still be impractical on older RTX cards even though the feature is technically available.
If you are buying a GPU
- Ray-tracing performance: important for Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Portal with RTX, and similar workloads.
- Frame Generation: requires RTX 40 series or newer.
- VRAM: increasingly important for 4K, path tracing, high-resolution textures, and RTX Remix mods.
- Power and cooling: especially important for laptops.
- Native support: generally offers a cleaner compatibility path than a driver override.
- Monitor and base frame rate: Frame Generation is most useful when traditionally rendered performance is already reasonably high.

DLSS is missing
- Confirm that the GPU is an RTX model.
- Install the latest compatible Game Ready Driver and update the game.
- Check that the game is using a supported graphics API and mode.
- Enable ray tracing when the title makes Ray Reconstruction conditional on it.
- Make sure the option is not hidden by a low preset or unsupported resolution.
- Do not confuse DLSS with AMD FSR or Intel XeSS.
Super Resolution works but Ray Reconstruction is absent
This can be normal. Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction are separate integrations, and a game may implement one without the other.

Frame Generation is missing on RTX 20 or 30
This is expected under NVIDIA’s hardware segmentation. Those generations support Ray Reconstruction, but NVIDIA documents Frame Generation for RTX 40 and 50 GPUs.
The NVIDIA App offers an upgrade
An App override can replace or upgrade a supported model in selected titles. It does not add developer-authored support to every game, and availability is title-specific.
Visual artifacts appear
Check the base frame rate, try Quality instead of Performance or Ultra Performance mode, and compare native rendering with a less aggressive ray-tracing preset. Fast camera movement, foliage, particles, Frame Generation, driver versions, and game patches can all affect image quality.
Bottom line
For DLSS 3.5’s defining feature, Ray Reconstruction, every GeForce RTX generation from RTX 20 through RTX 50 is eligible when a game implements it. RTX 40 and 50 add Frame Generation, and RTX 50 adds newer Multi Frame Generation features. Judge a purchase by ray-tracing performance, VRAM, base frame rate, laptop power limits, and the game’s actual integration—not by the phrase “DLSS 3.5” alone.
