You may see “livelog.dll is missing,” “livelog.dll was not found,” or “The procedure entry point … could not be located,” along with the Chinese message “无法启动此程序，因为计算机中丢失 LiveLog.DLL。”
A livelog.dll error usually means Tencent Video or an older QQLive component cannot load one of its private application files.
The 60-second answer
Do not download livelog.dll from a DLL library and do not copy it into System32 or SysWOW64. The strongest identification for this file is Tencent Video, historically installed in a QQLive directory.

- Close Tencent Video and related processes.
- Uninstall Tencent Video or QQLive from Windows.
- Restart the computer.
- Install the current Tencent Video client from Tencent’s official website or its verified Microsoft Store listing.
- If the error remains, check whether Windows is launching an abandoned QQLive installation, startup entry, scheduled task, or quarantined file.
livelog.dll is not a normal Windows component, Microsoft runtime, driver, or standard system DLL. Current Tencent Video releases may not use this legacy file, so replacing the DLL alone is not a reliable repair.

Historical reports associate the failure with QQLive.exe and QQLiveTroublesRepair.exe. If the dialog names the repair helper rather than the main player, repair Tencent Video itself rather than downloading a separate helper DLL.
What causes the error
The likely causes are, in order:

An incomplete or corrupted Tencent Video installation
An update may have failed, or the DLL may have been removed while other program files remained. -
An obsolete QQLive installation

Security software may have removed the file. A filename alone is not enough to decide whether a detection is valid. -
A mismatched or damaged binary
A 32-bit application needs compatible 32-bit components. Public records identify historicallivelog.dllsamples as 32-bit, but there is no reliable official architecture matrix or universal version for this file. -
System or disk damage
This is less specific tolivelog.dll, but broader corruption can cause several applications to fail. -
A malicious or abandoned copy

The file’s name does not prove that it is a logging library. Its internal description, canonical version, hash, exports, and current package status are not publicly verified by Tencent.

Fix 1: Reinstall Tencent Video or QQLive
This is the most likely successful fix.
Step 1: Close Tencent processes
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Processes.
- Close Tencent Video, QQLive, and any related repair or update process.
- Select a process, click End task, and confirm if prompted.
Do not end unrelated Windows processes merely because their names are unfamiliar.
Step 2: Uninstall the affected application
On Windows 11:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Search for Tencent Video or QQLive.
- Select the three-dot menu.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Complete the uninstall wizard.
On Windows 10:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Apps & features.
- Choose Tencent Video or QQLive.
- Select Uninstall.
If the program is not listed, continue to the next step. A missing entry can mean that only the old program directory or startup reference remains.
Step 3: Restart Windows
Restart before reinstalling. This clears files held open by an updater or repair helper and lets Windows reload startup configuration cleanly.

Download Tencent Video from Tencent’s official website or use the verified Microsoft Store listing after checking the publisher and package identity. Do not obtain only livelog.dll.
Install the application normally. If the installer offers a repair option, use it first. Otherwise, complete a clean installation.
How to tell whether it worked
Launch Tencent Video from its new shortcut. The repair succeeded if the application opens without a missing-file, entry-point, or 0xc0000020 message.
If the same error appears immediately, note the executable path shown in the dialog. A path containing an old versioned QQLive directory means Windows may still be starting a leftover installation.
Fix 2: Remove an abandoned startup entry
If Tencent Video has already been removed but the error appears at sign-in or startup, Windows may still be launching an obsolete helper.

Check Startup apps
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Select Startup apps.
- Look for Tencent Video, QQLive, or a repair/update entry.
- Select the entry.
- Click Disable.
- Restart Windows.
If disabling it stops the error, remove the old Tencent installation through its uninstaller if one remains.
Check the old program directory
Common historical installations used a path under:
C:Program FilesTencentQQLive
Do not assume every directory with that name is safe to delete. Open the location and confirm that it belongs to the abandoned Tencent installation and contains no user data. Delete it only after uninstalling the program and confirming that you no longer need its contents.
Do not overwrite a DLL in one Tencent version with a file from another version. Multiple installations can contain different private components.

A quarantine event can leave Tencent’s executable present while removing livelog.dll.
- Open Windows Security or your installed antivirus application.
- Open Protection history, Quarantine, or the equivalent section.
- Search for
livelog.dll,QQLive.exe, or a Tencent-related detection. - Inspect the file path, detection name, and publisher information.
- Restore the file only if it is inside the genuine Tencent installation and the related executable has a valid Tencent digital signature.
- Prefer reinstalling Tencent Video from a clean official installer instead of restoring an uncertain file.
- Run a full system scan.
Do not restore a DLL merely because its filename looks familiar. A malicious DLL can use the same name.
Fix 4: Check the path and architecture
Windows normally searches the application directory before system directories when loading a private DLL. That means livelog.dll normally belongs beside the Tencent executable that loads it, not in a global Windows folder.
To inspect the path:
- Right-click the Tencent shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Read the Target field.
- Open that folder in File Explorer.
- Check whether the executable and its supporting files are in the same genuine Tencent directory.
You can also right-click a file, select Properties, and inspect Digital Signatures. A valid Tencent signature on the executable is more useful than a filename match.
Do not copy a historical 32-bit DLL into a 64-bit application directory, or the reverse. Public records disagree about historical versions and sizes, so database listings are not safe replacement specifications.

Fix 5: Repair Windows components only as a secondary check
livelog.dll is not known to be a protected Windows file. DISM and System File Checker therefore cannot replace the Tencent component directly, but they can help if Windows itself is damaged or several unrelated programs are failing.
Microsoft recommends updating Windows and restarting before running these checks.
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Try Tencent Video again.
Run the commands in this order. DISM repairs the component store that SFC uses.
If SFC reports that it found and repaired corrupted files, restart and test the application. If both commands complete without finding a problem, return to the Tencent reinstall procedure rather than repeatedly running them.
Manually hunting through Windows repair output and repeating SFC or DISM without knowing what changed is time-consuming. Fix 6: Update Windows and relevant drivers
A graphics or system driver is not the usual cause of a private Tencent DLL error, but update drivers if Tencent Video crashes after its DLL issue is resolved or if other media applications also fail.
Use Windows Update
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
Check a device in Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters or the category named by another error.
- Right-click the device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart if Windows installs an update.
Do not remove a working driver solely because livelog.dll is missing. A driver update will not recreate a Tencent application file.

Do not run:
regsvr32 livelog.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose the DllRegisterServer entry point, typically self-registering COM or ActiveX components. There is no public evidence that livelog.dll is such a component.
If you try it anyway, Windows may report that the module loaded but DllRegisterServer was not found. That result does not mean the DLL is missing or that another copy should be downloaded. It means registration is not the appropriate repair.

Do not install runtimes at random
The filename is not a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime filename. There is no public evidence that Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET is a direct dependency of livelog.dll.

Install a Microsoft runtime only if the Tencent installer or a separate error explicitly identifies it. Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ Redistributable package and select the architecture required by the application. Installing several unrelated runtime packages will not repair a missing private Tencent DLL.
Windows Features and Device Manager also do not provide livelog.dll. Enabling legacy features should be based on a separate application requirement, not this filename.
If reinstalling still fails
Work through these checks:
- Read the exact executable path in the error dialog.
- Look for an old QQLive directory under Program Files or another Tencent installation location.
- Check Task Manager → Startup apps for stale Tencent entries.
- Check Task Scheduler for an obsolete Tencent updater or repair task.
- Search the computer for
livelog.dll, but do not replace files simply because they have the same name. - Scan suspicious copies outside the genuine Tencent directory.
- Check the digital signature of the executable that loads the DLL.
- Review antivirus detections and run a full scan.
- If several files fail across different applications, check disk health and Windows system integrity.
- Use System Restore only as a last resort after a known recent system change and after a clean Tencent installation has failed.
A “not designed to run on Windows” message or status 0xc0000020 points more strongly to a corrupted or mismatched binary than to a simple missing-file condition.

Is livelog.dll a Windows file?
No verified evidence identifies it as a Windows component. It should not normally be placed in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64.

Tencent Video is the strongest identification. Historical reports also name the QQLive application and QQLiveTroublesRepair.exe. Current releases may no longer contain this legacy component.
Should I download livelog.dll separately?
No. Random DLL sites can provide malware, the wrong architecture, or an incompatible historical build. A complete Tencent installation supplies the matching files and fixes the underlying cause.
Is livelog.dll 32-bit or 64-bit?
Historical public samples are identified as 32-bit, but there is no reliable official compatibility matrix. The application and DLL must match.
Will registering livelog.dll fix the error?
Usually not. regsvr32 applies to DLLs that provide DllRegisterServer; no public evidence shows that this file does.
What if the error appears after Tencent Video was uninstalled?
