That distinction helps you choose the next check without assuming an audio or encoding fault.
First, locate where the sound disappears
Compare four things: other YouTube videos on the same device, the same broadcast on another device, one playlist item against the others, and the destination saved for the Livepush stream. The pattern narrows the likely area to investigate; it does not by itself prove a specific cause.
- Other YouTube videos are silent on the same device: start with the player, browser or app, device output, and sound settings.
- Other YouTube videos have sound, but one playlist item does not: isolate that item and check its source recording.
- The Livepush broadcast is silent across devices: check the playlist and saved YouTube destination in Livepush, then contact Livepush support if it persists.
Check the YouTube player and device
- On the YouTube player, make sure it is not muted and raise its volume.
- Check the browser tab or app volume, the device’s output volume, and its selected sound output. YouTube Help advises: “Make sure that sound/volume is turned on for your browser or device.” YouTube’s no-sound troubleshooting also recommends restarting the browser or device.
- Play another YouTube video on the same device. If it is silent too, focus on browser or app sound settings and the device’s output settings before changing anything in Livepush.
- Restart the browser or device, then test again. If the issue remains, try another supported device or update the browser or app, following YouTube’s general playback troubleshooting guidance.
Check whether one playlist item is silent
Compare the affected video with the other items in the Livepush playlist. If only one item appears silent while the others have sound, inspect that source recording and, if possible, play the file directly to confirm whether its audio is present. This is an isolation test, not a published Livepush diagnostic or proof of what caused the silence.
Livepush describes a multi-video playlist as videos queued to play back-to-back in one continuous broadcast. It says uploaded videos are re-encoded to common constant encoding parameters to reduce glitches, freezes, or drops at transitions. That description does not promise that re-encoding restores missing audio. The available guidance does not identify a particular codec, audio-track, or encoder setting as the cause of this symptom. Verify the YouTube destination in Livepush
Confirm that the stream is set to the intended YouTube channel and live event, and that the destination is enabled. Livepush’s setup guide describes linking a YouTube account, choosing a channel and new live event, saving the destination, and toggling it on. - Open the stream’s destination settings in the Livepush dashboard.
- Check that the selected YouTube channel and event are the ones you intend to broadcast to.
- Confirm the destination has been saved and is enabled.
- Test the YouTube broadcast again and compare playback on another device if available.
If the broadcast is still silent
If other YouTube videos play normally but this Livepush broadcast remains silent across devices, contact Livepush support rather than guessing at an audio codec or encoder setting. Include the YouTube stream URL, the affected playlist item, when you noticed the issue, the selected destination/event, and the checks you have already completed.

YouTube notes that network congestion can affect live programming, but its general playback guidance does not single congestion out as a cause of silent audio.
